Yes, it’s a shitty movie. Doesn’t need a thread of it’s own though.
Are you two an airbender watcher ?
The Last Airbender?
m night whatever guy hass naever made a good film. glad this iss gonna be his last
You mean like Sixth Sense?
Do you guys watch the regular show/cartoon on tv is what I was asking.
I did. Now it’s just repeating the episodes over and over again. I’m such a child.
i have never watched a cartoon
i did, was actually a good show, this movie ruined it though
I hear they changed the pronunciation of Ang. Not sure I am kewl with that.
I hear they changed everything from cool to mega-retarded
I just saw it, and I think it’s probably the worst movie I’ve ever seen. I went in expecting it to be terrible and was not disappointed. It’s only book one, but the ending suggests that they are planning for sequels (it even says “book one” in the opening).
Yeah. They jump around the story way too much. They tell a lot of the back-story through flashbacks that really don’t hold any relevance to the current scene.
The characters aren’t well developed at all. There’s barely any casual dialog between the trio. Everyone is serious almost all of the time. I think Aang laughs once, and that’s for about two seconds during a flashback.
A few of the lines are references to specific episodes in the series (the puppetmaster was one). The way they use them, it seems like they’re trying to provide fan service. In reality, it sounds like “geddit its liek form teh cratoon lolol <33333”
Then there’s the race issue. I don’t consider myself a racist person, but it’s really really distracting. They try to keep everything else in the movie looking and sounding asian, but almost all of the actors are Latinos. The fire nation are all darker-skinned Latinos. Even Ozai. It makes him look way less sinister.
In the movie, firebenders can’t create their own fire. They have to bend fire that already exists. During lots of fights they use swords and arrows instead of firebending. I guess this was to save money on cgi. There are a few scenes where it shows them apparently bending, but you can’t see anything happening.
Also Aang’s arrows are dumb.
Aang=Ahhng
Sokka=So-ka
Iroh=Ee-ro
It’s just another one of the changes the movie makes. It’s distracting and doesn’t move the plot at all.
The whole movie feels like one long parody of the series, except they forgot to be funny.
Saw it today and it’s not as bad as all the reviews were making it out to be. I’m not saying it’s good either, though. The acting’s not very good and the 3 main group is especially annoying. I did enjoy some of the fighting, though, and thought that the end was pretty cool.
Some friends went to see it yesterday and I told them I’ll pass because it will probably suck, what a waste of 10 bucks.
Can I just note that movies with protagonists younger than 18 are usually annoying.
I realize this.
Not annoying…
Thank you.
