The Half Life ending

The point was G-Man can’t always do ‘whatever the fuck he wants’, as thanks to the Vorts whatever his plans were in Ep1 get totally fucked over.

SPOILER

GMan is a Vortigaunt from the future!

…wait …what?

I am one of thoughs ppl that think G-man if freeman but, I also think g-man might have been the blackmesa administrator because if he was that would explain haw he got the high tech suit case.

EDIT for raw_bean you tell use to stay on topic in the forums but your the reason this one got off topic lol. (no this isn’t ment to be takin in a bad way)

Why don’t you just shut up?
I mean I can take spelling errors, but you just look like you’re taking the piss.

Fuck off. We were talking about the G-Man in terms of what he was capable of and why he would do things people were suggesting for the end of the game (the topic). You on the other hand are just spouting random (and massively stupid) theories about the G-Man that have nothing to do with anything and then blaming me for it. [COLOR=‘Red’]Get on topic.

When it comes to the ending of HL, I think less is more, especially since there’s not allot wrong with how it was executed the first time round.

The only way I think it can be enhanced is simply in terms of scale. Meaning more Agrunts. Lots more. As many as can be rendered on screen at once (within reason.)
Of course in order to actually see past the front row, Gordon would have to be in a large, shallow bowl like depression, rather than on a flat level ground. Aside from that I wouldn’t change anything in terms of staging.

Fighting them is a huge no-no and in instant drama killer. Heavy echoed breathing (for scale) and fade to black. Job done. Roll credits.

Just bareface the poor man why dont you? :retard:

Some Gargantuas would be cool, but that could get laggy.

At this point in the game I don’t think lag will be much of an issue…

You mean the administrator that was clearly revealed to be Dr. Breen in Half-Life 2?

G-man is Duke Nukem from the Duke Nukem Forever. It is so far into the future that he gained some awesome abilities…

[COLOR=‘Red’]Topic or die.

I honestly think the “bad” ending (where you decline G-man’s offer) could do with some source-engine optimization.
MY Ending:
Gordon freeman remains stoic refusing to be in his employ.
G-man: your choice, Mr. freeman (or whatever was recorded)
Freeman is warped to a clearing with a garg facing him and many Grunts (only five or so, idle animation) looking to tear him a new one.
player is Lifted (similar to the combine advisors scenes in Ep2) and thrust against the cliff wall by the Garg.
slowly fade to black as the Gargantua snarls and roars at the player
G-man: (unseen by player) "No Regrets, Mr. Freeman… "
fades into BGM and Roll credits

Only the Gargantua doesn’t have telepathic powers like the Advisors. And how is the Garg meant to lift you up and pin you to the wall with these piddly arms?:

Most people thankfully seem to agree that less is more in this particular case, and the less shown and more implied the finale is, the better. The only thing that should be modified is perhaps the positioning and reaction of the alien grunts.

what I meant was " the Garg pins Gordon/the player against the ground and then roar, G-man quote, fade to black and roll credits"

No.

Don’t get my wrong. I love the garg as an enemy, and wish he’d show up in the HL episodes, but I don’t see any good reason to deviate so greatly from the feel and method of the original.

I assume you mean HL2 Episodes?

Exactly what Floyd said.

No. I said what I meant. I figured people would be able infer what I meant, as the two episodes after half life 2 are the only two official episodes.
