I’m not judging anyone, but like it or not the forms are part of the mod’s public face. I really have no context for your reference as I’ve never played any of the L4D games or participated in the community. I would be supprised if someone working for Valve in an official capacity carried on like some of the people here do, but I suppose it’s possible.
Well the community there is horrible to say the least. What I’m trying to say, judging a product by the community that surrounds it is pretty stupid.
There’s a world of difference between these two games and communities. You really cannot compare a project that is funded with real cash and created to drive a profit to a project done in a group’s spare time for their own enjoyment.
Sure, they may be doing all the hard work. But we are their word of mouth and whatever we do when we tell people about this mod represents it in some shape or form.
If you think back a bit, I’m sure you’ll remember that a lot of people refused to play Counterstrike because of the stereotype that it was overrun by fifteen year olds, etc.
You’re making an incorrect assumption here, I think the product is great and I’m looking forward to playing Black Mesa when it comes out. I would not be here lurking were it otherwise. Like any community it is largely a product of those who lead it. Think of it like a rock artist. I can enjoy the music but I’m under no obligation to like the person who produces it. Does my lack of respect for the person diminish my enjoyment of the music? No.

We’re getting a recent influx of alt trolling accounts from who I think to be Iso. Can we be a little more vigilant about the problem?
