I’ll post this here, since I know there are thief fans here/a couple of TDM fans too

The standalone version of The Dark Mod is finally out which means TDM is a free game now, no more needing Doom 3.

This is great for anybody who wanted to try this but didn’t have doom 3.

Cool. I’ll update at some point. I don’t think I’ll ever beat this Heart of Lone Salvation mission. It’d be pretty cool if the team that made this started making their own campaign.

I’m not sure if it’s the team themselves, but there is a campaign in the works called the Crucible of Omens which they seem to be talking about a lot that it sounds like it would at least be semi-official, sort of.

Just remembered an issue I wasn’t able to resolve. I can’t customize the head bob settings. I’ve tried putting them into the config file, setting it to read only, putting them in an autoexec.cfg file, and nothing. The settings are correct when I first start the game up but when I load a game they go back to default and if I load a game they go back to default. Does anyone know enough about how this game works to tell me why it keeps doing this? I’m at my wit’s end here, it’s so annoying.

Trying to download it but getting dreadful speeds - 6KB/s…

EDIT: Ah, maybe it was just that one file, it’s much faster now.

There should be a text file with a list of mirrors called tdm_mirrors.txt, try commenting out some (by putting a # before the line) and saving it and if you find a good one it should make it faster

EDIT: Don’t use the unlimited one though, that’s an older version of the mod.

it’s really impressive, but it crashes constantly. I can’t save or load, so I basically can’t get past the second guard in the tears of st. lucia mission. :confused:

@ibanez the saving and loading works if you rename the folder its in to ‘darkmod’

Their website crashed due to overly high demand, for the huge interest in the stand-alone release of v2.0. It’s fine now.
