I really do not want to click that link that you posted, Level, and be scarred for life so I’m going to ignore it. I thought that I would also mention something that Sersoft told me. He said that when he used to play Source engine games on his PC, it would come up with the HL2.exe error. He told me that when he installed Windows 7, it all went away.
Hey, that was only on my cheap laptop with a GMA950 graphics card, I think that XP is alot more stable than windows 7 in other cases.
let’s talk about procompsognathus, the prehistoric raccoons. You may have read about them in Jurassic Park, or seen 'em in the Land of the Lost film adaptation.
Yeah man really that was scary as hell. I’m traumatized. That red button, oh my god. Oh and that sound, :fffuuu:. The drums they’re so evil :fffuuu:.
I typed rimshot into wikipedia and was like, ooooh, I get it.
YOU’RE DOING IT WRONG. NOT A FUCKING RIMSHOT. IT’S A STING.
pretty much what wikipedia told me, bscly
I didn’t make the website.
I found a website with a sting:
https://www.productiontrax.com/trackpage.php?id=4664
WARNING: DO NOT DRIVE OR OPERATE HEAVY MACHINERY UNTIL HALF AN HOUR LATER IF YOU DECIDE TO LISTEN TO BINAURAL BRAINWAVES. CHECK THE PIANO HL2 MODDB PAGE FOR THE WARNING IF YOU DON’T BELIEVE ME.
Quote from ModDB Website Piano HL2 Mod Page:
“We should also make a note that due to some of the sound effects we have used in the game, they have included “binaural waves” to enhance the player’s experience. This means that the player should not go to drive or operate heavy machinery until at least half an hour after playing.”
I also found this website about binaural brainwaves:
https://www.i-doser.com/?gclid=CKKGsImikpsCFQ_yDAodQzOppg
Here is a HL2 mod called The Piano in the making that features binaural brainwaves:
They need to work on that, that was some pretty weak use of binaural audio.
I have a friend who is looking for a good Windows gaming laptop. What would be the brand to buy? Alienware, Sony Vaio, Dell XPS, etc?
alienware has the best preformance, that is if he has the money. Get a DIY if u dont have the money.
Joke computer.
XPS are pretty good, not the best, but they can play most games, just not the newest ones. Just make sure you get the better video card in it. Alienware are overpriced and not worth it. They are desktop replacements, and not portable in the slightest. The XPS brand (I have the 1530) are small ish, portable, and you can game decently on them.
gaming laptop is the computer example of a contradictio in termines. srsly. just doesn’t exist.
Thanks for the info, Level. I have another question. Does anyone know if there is a way to get older games that are not compatible with Windows XP to work? My old HP laptop had a Program Compatibility Wizard on it that made older games work. I don’t have that on the Windows XP SP2 CD I received from Amazon so it must have just been a Hewlett Packard thing. Is there software out there that I can get that will make older games that do not run on XP to suddenly work?
EDIT: Nevermind, I found the Program Compatibility Wizard on Windows XP on my Macbook.
Regular Macbooks suck for gaming, get one of the new Unibody Macbook Pros if you want to game.
Regular Macbooks can’t even run Spore well, I mean goddamn.
Well if the Macbook can’t run Spore, it probably can’t run Crysis at all. Damn, that’s a shame. Anyway, my Macbook can handle Half Life 2 Episode Two so Black Mesa will be no problem for my Macbook.
You need a macbook pro to do any gaming, bought from apple online with the ‘customized’ hardware.
Yes, this is true if you want to play the latest games that have come out this year and have these games running at the highest graphics settings possible as well as loading speed times. I can play all of Valve’s games decently on my 13-inch aluminum Unibody Macbook laptop. Games like Crysis set to maximum settings on a computer would be territory for the Macbook Pro with the ‘customized’ hardware.
