The assassins

Give the guy a break. Nowhere did he say that he wants it to be more like Opposing Force. He thinks (and quite understandably) that, due to the mod expanding upon scientists’ genders and appearance from the original, they could do the same for the assassins. After all, having an all-female acrobatic elite assassination team clad in leather does seem a bit overdramatic and garish, not that that makes them any less awesome though.

@Danson - I understand where you’re coming from but the last I checked, the developers were only concerned with recreating Half-Life and not including any new npcs. Including male black ops would take months of modelling, coding, scripting, texturing and I can wholly empathise with them when they want to concentrate on more pressing issues.

They were basically marines with kung fu moves.

When I get my sig back that is what it’s going to be.

O RLY?

As I said before:

Again, I am not suggesting anything, just pointing out the mere possibility.

I highlighted it for you folks - many of you seem to have troubles reading. Better now?

I still has troubles to read :frowning:

Something tells me you can’t have a super-science-facility with no archetypical Asian scientists.

In all fairness, this is the suggestion box. If you’re not suggesting anything your post is pretty much redundant.

I was suggesting that there might be the possibility to incorporate male black ops like those in Opposing Force into Black Mesa.

Pah, namby-pamby, wishy-washy fence sitter. Grow some balls and show some courage in your convictions and say what you mean. :stuck_out_tongue:

So basically you are suggesting it, but don’t dare admit it out of fear of being flamed.

I suggest we completly scrap the whole female assasin Idea and just use this in stead:

Oh, alright then - you want me to say something along the lines of:

Hey Black Mesa Team! Get those black ops motherfuckers in there, goddamn it!

Seriously, who’s gonna care anyway?!

^ Do not Want UGLY ASS MEN DOING BACKFLIPS IN TIGHT LEATHER.

I thought we went over this already. :stuck_out_tongue:

Flaming raw_bean makes about as much sense as roasting hamster corn-burger steaks underwater.

I’ll take 2.

I actually really like this suggestion. Though the dev’s already have something like it. In HL, Barney was shot right in front of you, but you never get to see where the bullet is coming from. I get that that was kind of the point; to build suspense and put the player on edge, but there really is no introduction to the assassins in HL. The player is just left too look around and stir up a hornet’s nest with out giving the player a chance to comprehend the threat before he has to face it. With the new source engine there are many new ways to introduce the assassins.

I don’t know how one would insert the fleeting glances from Episode 2, because you arrive at their location via an elevator. Once you get to the top, there is the barney right there that gets shot. Then just a few strides ahead of you, there are the assassins. Unless the layout has changed significantly form HL, I really don’t see any in between time to give the player a chance catch a few fleeting glimpses so I don’t exactly know how this would work, but I still like the idea of giving the player some kind of introduction to the assassins.

I AM AWESOME

Ok, my point has been made.

But seriously, I like the idea of male Black Ops but when I think about it they would just look silly.

However, no-one has considered the possibility of female Marines, have they?

Because that is a dream and i love any kind of revolver .44,.357,.45,.38 and etc

Reloading the revolver making me feel badass expart get shot in the ass when reloading.

He wasn’t talking to me.

I wasn’t flaming anyone either.
Even if I was flaming raw_bean, who cares anyway?

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
