The Amazing Spider-Man

I’m to pro for Photoshop, I use Macromedia frikkin’ Flash.

Actually I think it is one of the more questionable elements, since most of the stuff you listed is part of the suspension of disbelief you usually have when you watch a superhero movie that’s supposed to be taken seriously

Peter Parker is working on developing a new formula for Silly String that is significantly lighter and stronger.

That’s old school right there.

I will watch that movie first before I give out an opinion.

I know it sounds pretty edgy and counter-culture but that’s how I roll, ladies…

Then you may roll…

Counter-Cultures win.

It seems like every iteration of spider-man they have to progressively make him even more skinny then he was before, movie or cartoon.

He’s a 16 year old nerd. By modern standards that would entail heaps of fat and a grim odor but back in the 60s things were a little less crass, albeit predictable

Okay, before you start…

Now that that’s out of the way, I guess it’s time for this thread to come back to life.
The Amazing Spider-Man has been in theaters since today, and after seeing it just a bit ago, I have to say that it was fucking awesome. It really did live up to it’s hype, and for the most part, there was not much negative things I could say about it. Dark but not Batman-esque plot and atmosphere, great character development, great soundtrack, great effects, great everything I guess. If I did have one complaint, it’s that the Lizard was a little bit of a letdown. The Lizard is more of a hero turned monster then a straight up villain, so seeing him in such a devious light took away from the fact that he was, behind the mutation, a good guy. There wasn’t much empathy put in for him. Other then that though, great film!
4/5

Well, I haven’t seen it yet but there’s a shot from the trailer of web coming out of the spider bite. I thought he extracts it from himself.

As for the intricate professional CAD built clockwork webshooter. I too have to wat.

Saw it. Was great. As a lover of Raimi’s first two films, I gotta say this is just as good executed WAY differently.

One thing I really liked was how different, yet similar the origin story for Peter in this film is to the classic version.
SPOILER [COLOR=‘Black’]It doesn’t make sense for Peter to enter a wrestling match, he’s only a 16 year old kid, there’s no way they’d let some kid enter a wrestling match, unless he has parental permission, which he didn’t have, so I’m glad they did away with that.
END OF SPOILER I feel there’s emotion in these films then there are in the last three. The writing alone beats the old films anyday (and I still love the old SM films).

Idk. Raimi’s Spider man movies had a retro 60s kind of aesthetic to em that bled into the dialog. I kinda feel like the two versions aren’t really comparable because of this. They’re completely stylistically different.

I guess.
