The Amazing Spider-Man

I didn’t see a thread related this, so I thought I’d be the one to start the fire :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyone else hyped as hell for this movie? I know I am lol. I mean, damn, this looks like it’ll kick ass in theaters. Here’s some trailers for it incase you haven’t heard about it.

Discuss.

If they can’t tie it into the Avengers, idk what they can do with it other than make more money and push out more games/ toys.

So that’s really all I see this movie as. Even if it’s good, it will still just be a toy pusher.

I don’t understand why it needed a reboot. They could have easily made a fourth movie with Toby and made up for the stupidity of Spiderman 3.

Well, Spider-man 3 was a bit like the Batman and Robin of the Raimi trilogy. The reboot is doing the same thing that Nolan did to the Batman franchise, making it up to date, and following the source material, yet adding it’s own flavor to it. I think the reboot is needed, I love the Raimi trilogy, but this…

…well, that’s a bit beyond redemption.

Spiderman 3 had it’s problems, but it wasn’t anywhere near as bad as Batman & Robin…

I know, lol, I still liked it, but what I mean is that it’s the weakest out of all three movies. Plot is rushed, there’s too many villains for a two hour film, and again, this…

…is beyond redemption.

Nah, I’d have to disagree with you there. Most toy-pusher flicks are pretty kid friendly, loud, colorful, pretty much everything a kid would be interested in and want to bring home and play with (example: Transformers).
This is way too dark to be a toy-pusher. With all due respect, it’s like saying the Nolan movies are toy-pushers.

The Amazing spider man film is directly influenced by the comics, as you can see that Peter has a device that’s shoots web from, instead from his wrist like in Riami’s films

Yeah, I’m glad they did that. Doesn’t make sense for the webs to magically shoot from his wrists, I mean, if he does have organic webbing, it’d have to come out the same way a spider’s webbing comes out: through his ass.

By the way, incase anyone doesn’t know, the release date for this film is July 3rd, at least in North America. Look here for the international release dates.

I actually liked that movie. When I was little, the motorcycle race reminded me a lot about Jet Moto. Dr. Freeze’s gun = Duke’s Freezethrower blahblahblah…

Also Robin didn’t “HOLY [whatever] BATMAN” :stuck_out_tongue:

I didn’t see a single shade of dark in anything they’ve shown in Amazing. There’s lots of night, but there’s not a lot of dark.

Well, like, it’s very serious, especially compared to the Raimi movies. Plus, I’m not too sure kids are gonna be cool with a huge lizard thing, just look at it!

I wonder how vivid these kid’s nightmares are gonna be.

I’m on middle ground when it comes to this.

On one hand I do like that they want to give Spider-man a second chance after Raimi’s and Maguire’s butchering of the series… But on the other hand I fail to see the added value of yet another set of movies… Unless they connect it to the second Avengers movie, which would be all kinds of awesome, mind you.

man this year is full of DAMN GOOD movies !

Remember when Nolan made Batman Begins? He was striving to reboot and reimagine the Batman franchise, and provide some new Batman related entertainment to the public when the Burton/Shumacher movies were declining in quality and thus, failing to bring the Dark Knight justice. This new Spidey movie is doing the same thing, just replace Batman with Spider-man

we can’t decide UNTIL we watch first

Lizard will never scare anyone.

I think that’s legally impossible.

You don’t think that’s freaky? I do. Then again, I’ve had bad experiences with lizards…

Worst trailer I’ve ever seen.
I already thought this movie will be shit. This trailer convinced me that it is even shittier than I thought.
^this is mine.
