That would be part of the point of my fanfic. I knew, prior to thinking up the idea of the fanfic, that there was no Year 0 on the Gregorian calendar (upon which the time circuits are based). My idea was that there is a computer that takes a set date (November 5, 1955?) and uses that as “0” in its calculations and whatever from that date is 0-x or 0+x in order to calculate where and when to send the Delorean.

So, entering DEC 25 000 would cause the computer to calculate from that specified “0” point and land Marty in Hill Valley on December 25, 1BCE (if not causing a time paradox the likes of which could cause a chain reaction that would unravel the very fabric of the space-time continuum and destroy the entire universe!.. Granted, that’s the worst-case scenario. The destruction however might be limited merely to our own galaxy).

I’ve found, starting to do research into my fanfic, that it would require a lot of research into the times of that era in order to write the story and, frankly, I didn’t have the motivation to write it; plus my own views on Jesus and such would possibly paint the story in an apparent anti-Christian light though it wouldn’t be intentional…

…if Marty could somehow get to the Middle East with the Delorean (could it fly around the world on a tank of regular unleaded?) anyway.
