^Thirded

Also, I really don’t see how it’s possible to be a hater / cynic about this, even on moddb, because they wouldn’t just start a social media campaign for nothing.

Could we get a version without the :hover texts on the screenshots? I mean, it’s a bit silly to see “Click here to see full version” or whatever in the screenshots…

Any chance next media release we could see an update to this area:

I really think the scraped away paint on the door frame looks sub-par to everything else. I’d love to see that it’s been replaced with something of higher quality!

There’s some great response to the social-media campaign at the moddb page I see! That page has seen darker days so to speak.

It’s exciting to see that this is finally going to be released in a not so distant future. I can’t imagine how exciting and relieving it must be for you developers to finally, you know…

Anyway, congratulations! :awesome:

People keep going on about how the first release will be only sp. Did that devs say that anywhere? Could I get some sauce on that?

over 1400 posts and you still don’t know that? The devs said it. I am too lazy to look for it.

I want to make something clear: The devs neither deny nor accept the common idea that the mod will be released soon. Starting a new hype although the devs always tried to keep silent is the main argument for the assumption of a soon release and the interview of Carlos Montero stating the mod will be released “soon-ish” plus the FB caption. Vague conclusion: This mod will be released this year. Pretty obvious comment but w/e.

Thanks for the info. Because you’re not a newbie like the other posters on the subject I’ll take your word for it. I’ve been banned and/or left a couple times so I must have missed when that news went circulating around.

Releasing Xen later is a stupid rumor that that one newbie keeps spreading. I’d having trouble buying it even if he had a dev quote to back it up.

Did i already mention that BMS is awesome?
Kind of missed mentioning that as a pre-requisite for joining the forum, i guess.

Wow, I told my friend about this, and he thought it still had coop. As soon as I said it didn’t he started bashing the mod so much, saying whats the point if it doesn’t have more features then the original, why not play the original, single player games are dying out, why’s it so anticipated, blah blah blah. Then he said you guys were lazy because you aren’t having coop :what:

He seemed a little more positive when I explained how much people wanted Halo Anniversary even though it didn’t even have MP and was expensive, and how BM was completely free, so he seemed a little less “anti” BM but seriously, wtf. It’s a free mod, and he’s actually a smart person so I wouldn’t have expected him to have such a strong stance against it, especially when he was looking forward to it when he thought there was coop. Maybe he was just pissed because he probably expected it to come with coop for all these years

Welcome to the world of “I experienced someone smart act totally stupid and unfitting”. That phenomenon appears when people think they know something but in fact know nothing about it. This can only be legitimated if you really know more about the subject (eg. Black Mesa) than the person in front of you.

Yeah, but I guess it surprised me because he usually knows a lot about a subject before he would start something like that (because he always has to win, and to his credit he usually is right) and we always play older games, even if they aren’t coop, at least at the same time so I expected him to be excited, especially since HL is one of his favorites.

still doesn’t excuse him from being a tosser. tired of people crying about every little thing. if he wants coop for bm - simple hire a team of response monkey’s and get them to develop it.

Well, the hype has certainly started up again

If it was the intention of the devs then be it.

It was #1 the other day.

All I have to say is, since I think they are still on track for releasing the Source code with the mod, I think it’s safe to assume that even if the dev team completely abandons it (ie. doesn’t finish or even work further on multiplayer) after their done with single player, it’s fairly safe to assume that some other team can get Synergy to work with it or something. It would have been nice to have nods to multiple players from the NPCs but I’d rather they focused on making a masterpiece, someone else can probably do a (relatively) quick port job for co-op afterwards.

That’s my hope as well. Coop support, even indirect, will make me a very happy man.

I think the Devs should work hard on a Massive Multiplayer Online Black Mesa games.

We deserve it!

They’d be abandoning us if they didn’t!

I bet he listens to dubstep.

Lol, look around. They abandoned us years ago. The only thing keeping us going is Ram’s pretty mouth, and the periodic hype of a new screenshot. But for realizes, can’t wait for another screenshot :stuck_out_tongue:

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
