We’re getting pretty close to 20000. Right now we’re on 14832 likes. At this rate, we may get the new media by tomorrow afternoon, Eastern US time anyways. Don’t know what time of day it’ll be unlocked in other timezones.

Raminator might just be fucking around with us. No disrespect to him or anything, mind you, but it does sound like something he would do. 
Remember, he’s the lead developer, he’s pretty much right under cmank in the mod’s “ranking”, so it seems unlikely that the lead developer of the mod wouldn’t know about the media release. While it could be something the forum’s moderator could be doing, brokenfridgehinge can’t really do anything without the mod team giving him their OK, and also, remember that the whole team has to be on board with any public relation decisions.
I spoke to Hubicorn earlier about this, and he was very tight-lipped about the whole situation (and understandably so). All he would say is that it will be worth the wait, that the team learned from the 2009 debacle, and that he could not say anything more.
He neither confirmed nor denied that there would only be screenshots. All he said was “there will be screenshots.”

The number of facebook likes has officially doubled since the posting of the “20,000 Likes” code.
Last night when I took a screenshot, it showed 7,563. The number is now 15,128, which is 2 more than double the number from last night. Even if the rate slows down a little, the 20,000 mark should be reached in the next 24 hours.
Giggity.
