TF2: the most unbalanced game ever made

NO this is not trolling. I’m sure 90% of you will remain blissfully ignorant of just how badly made the classes are and dismiss this as trolling. Either way I will not stick around to see the results of this thread as it will obviously just be verbal assault and actual trolling.

The two most fun by far classes in TF2: Spy and Sniper. They are bother incredibly fun. Two of the weakest classes in TF2: spy (occasionally he does well, but it requires lots of skill and luck unlike other classes) and sniper (also requires lots of skill). The Heavy the engie and the medic are all so overpowered it’s not even funny. The engie though by a massive lead. The engie is more overpowered than the MW2 noob toob and the BFBC2 PBR all rolled into one. In EVERY server there is at least one noob who can’t aim for shit so he hides at his intel/cp/whatever and spends ten minutes setting up a literally impenetrable row of turrets and then spends the rest of the game popping out of the resupply to repair his turrets. In most cases, after wasting several llives, you can take out most of the turrets with the demoman or something. But every once in a while a douchebag sets up turrets in such a position that it can’t be shot easily by the demoman and he can repair it without getting hurt. In this case the only reasonable way to attack the turrets is with the spy’s sapper. However that is almmost entirely useless seeing as it takes about 2 seconds for an engie to repair a sapped structure and most engies hide around their turrets spy checking anyone who gets too close to their turrets. Sure there are some ways to kill it effectively, but that takes lots of skill and a cooperating pair of at least two. And why should it be that ONE skilless douchebag should take AT LEAST two cooperating skilled players and many lives to kill?

TL;DR Spy and Sniper are insanely fun, and, gnereally, TF2 is insanely fun. However, the engie class especially is ABSURDLY overpowered. So much so it’s not even funny. It stuns me that Valve could make such a colossal blunder and include a strategy so insanely overpowered, let alone one that requires the skill of a seven year old vietnamese downs crack baby to use it effectively. Why is it that mp games are always oriented around exploiting the game as much as possible to get the best k/d rather than using the tactics that aren’t necessarily the most powerful but are the most fun??

The engineer can only build one sentry…

Which is why the vast majority of teams have at least 2-3 engies…

When two teams decide to be turret assholes it turns into a god awful stalemate that is hell for anyone not douchebaggy enough to use turrets himself.

And MAYBE the turret would be reasonable if it took skill to use. But it doesn’t. Games should reward skill and skill alone, not game exploiting douchebaggery.

And that’s why you get hone your skill, go into a clan match where usual configuration (can change) is two soldiers, one demo and two scouts (I think… Quitted playing in clan matches long time ago)

I thought you were leaving?

how could you forget the pyro? that is more overpowered than the engie. Just hold W and left click and you will be able to obliterate ANYONE that comes close to you. but most of them camp just around corners so there is no escape

Stop there, you’re an idiot. I recognize that its debatable which are the most fun, but to state that those two, especially the sniper are the most fun by far? Pure idiocy.

In any case, if you are good, the spy is incredibly powerful. I’ve seen many games of CTF or CP carried by a spy. If you can’t take out or at least temporarily freeze an engie nest (its called Team Fortress, use it), get better. Yes its a hard class, stop whining about it. Also, its a rarity that a good uber or series of ubers can’t take out an engie nest.

Finally, what do you propose fixes the engineer problem? Remove engies? No. Make Sentry guns so weak most classes could destroy them? Stupider idea. The best solution is to play as a [b]team[/] (notice a theme?). The game was designed for classes to cooperate, and if they do, nothing is unbalanced. Besides demoknights of course. Damn them to hell.

^This.

I never had as much trouble with engineers as you claim unless I was unlucky enough to end up on a server where somebody was using a hack that allows them to build more than 1 sentry. Either way, when I play TF2 I don’t really see any class being noticeable better than another.

wat, no.

Edit : Wait, are you talking about me or him? I presume it was me, since you commented right after me.

Edit 2 : DAMNIT ITS NOT ABOUT ME.

Weren’t you going to leave when you posted that thread about you leaving a few days ago?

Well, if you don’t like tf2 how it is, don’t play. I started playing just to start practicing soldier, and I do believe that the game has become too clustered and is just way too chaotic to be fun. Still, few servers are fun.

I thought this thread was about the shit weapons that just came out. The new weps fucking are OP as hell. It’s almost impossible to dodge and pyros can’t do anything to them. It made TF2 unbalanced.

I use the huntsman with the sniper. It’s incredibly satisfying. The other weapons may not be fun, but the hunstman sure as hell is. I like the classes that are pretty unconventional and heavily reward skill not the class that simply gets the most kills. IMO sniper with hunstman and spy are the two that fit those categories best. It’s preference so lets move on.

I love the spy. I’m not whining about it. I like it the way it is. It’s just not nearly as easy to get kills with as say the heavy.

I suggest making a spy sapper either incredibly difficult to remove or completely destroy a turret, then the turret would be pretty balanced. and/or, I’m not sure how, do something that forces engies to use skill when operating turrets. Or, best of all, just add a secret update that VAC bans anyone who gets a 6 plus killstreak with a turret. XD

And I said I’d come crawling back once I got bored enough. I just got bored sooner than expected. My gf isn’t putting out. Anyway, I might pay a little attention to this thread, otherwise, yes, I am gone. I mostly just needed somewhere to rage about the skilless turret where I don’t give a fuck if people don’t like me for it. That’s more or less what this forum means to me XD.

At person talking about the pyro, yeah the pyro is pretty damn powerful, but you just gotta keep your distance. Or you can use the huntsman which deals with pyros really well, hiding around a corner or otherwise.

BTW, watch the meet the engie video. Valve reveals just how flawed the class is in it’s own promotional video; the engie does absolutely no work while his turret goes on an absurd rampage. It’s just like in the actual game.

And sorry for a scatterbrained unorganized post, I’m sleepy.

EDIT: oh and by your own logic, “it’s team fortress 2, use teamwork”, the turret should be made to require more teamwork to use effectively. And no, I don’t count 3 engies all putting turrets in the same spot as teamwork.

Yes tf2 is balanced worth shit right now. But I don’t think it will ever be as balanced as it was before the goldrush update.

However it seems like you guessed more about what was op / up than you actually thought.

No matter how many times you say QQ or u mad or whatever other gay meme you like, it doesn’t make the complaint any less true. That’s a very common misconception on the internet.

Nor does it make it any more true. Another common misconception on the internet.

No, memes do not make your posts anymore true. That’s why I use arguments which if well thought out can lend strength to what you are trying to say. Don’t try to “cleverly” reword my post to refute me without first making sure it fits.

I meant that denying the opponent’s argument (whether it be valid or not) does not strengthen your argument.
