TF2 Menu with bots

So I was on the TF2 section of the steam forums, and came across a thread that linked to this.

https://www.ubercharged.net/2009/08/26/how-to-have-bots-fighting-on-your-main-menu/

Which is totally awesome.

And just because Im nice, I uploaded my cfg that I edited so there are multiple classes now, just to make it interesting.

Just put it in the cfg folder instead of making your own.

Enjoy.

Seems pretty neat. That’d be fun to have.

Just out of curiosity, being unable to access my TF2 right now, does this work well with other maps?

You need to get waypoint for the bots added, but it really depends on the camera angle.

I’ve got it working nicely
I was worried about how much FPS I would get, but it’s fine.
Screenies for proof:

Thanks for sharing.

I hear the AI for spys doesn’t work quite yet, the whole cloaking and backstabbing…

Actually, Spy works fine(can cloak in good places, and uncloak in good places).

It’s Medics and Pyros that have problems.

EDIT:
Although, it’s still in BETA so it’s not exactly perfect :stuck_out_tongue:

I lol every time the heavy stop shooting and does like 4-5 little jumps really fast.

Every class does that… I had an engie in a loop of just jumping around in circles.

Bookmarked. Will try it after uni today.

Hmm, I heard about it about 6 months ago, so it’s probably been updated since then.

Two things:
First, I keep getting two units in one place that separate around when they come on camera.
Second, the cl_nohud (not sure what it is exactly) and sv_cheats remain on if you start a server, just a heads up if you aren’t paying attention to the console.

EDIT: Just to double check, having sv_cheats of once does not permanently disable achievements for the entire time TF2 runs that time, right?

EDIT 2: Return of the Edit: And if you for some reason launch the game directly into a map with only one spawn point (really only if you are mapping), its fun to see a pile of 32 units all meleeing each other.

I will try this out, as soon as I can stop using my Intel X3500 GPU and escalate to something that will run the original Half Life decently (cough 2-3 fps with Fraps, 7-8 without)

Duz it still play muzaks?

Yes, but only if I drug it enough.
I just tried the menu-bots thing. It was neat, but I was topping out at about 3 FPS. :[
Get my new computer later this week though!

Seems really cool ill try it when i get a chance

wow, a post that was crucial to this thread’s existence and definitely worth bumping it A MONTH AND A FUCKING HALF.

I know. I really have no clue how I managed to survive all these years without that information. (Feeling sarcastic today)

Hurr Durr Mr High and mighty, you have also bumped it.

As have you. And as have I. Let’s move on.
