TES V announced at last - it's Skyrim!

Dynamic snow! Dynamic snow!

Do you think if one stands still in the snow in third person long enough that snow will build up on your head and shoulders?

Reading about all those new features and seeing those magazine scans, I think I came in my pants a little bit.

I hope this version will have criminal scum

Too bad I missed this:

Level-scaling: It is coming back

Fuck. Bye-bye enthusiasm. I hate fucking level-scaling. What’s the use of leveling at all if monsters level with you? It just takes all the feeling of accomplishment out of the game. There you are, level 30 with armour and weapons you would expect gods to walk around in, and you still can’t kill a rat any faster than you could when you where bashing it with a rusty iron short sword. Fuck that.

Actually it’s not the same system used in Oblivion, but the one used in Fallout 3. Meaning that there is still some scaling going on, but you can still encounter areas with enemies much stronger than you, that you can go back to when you get better.

At least it’s better than Oblivion. I hated that system. Guess that’s why I enjoy Nehrim so much.

Nehrim has some level scaling as well, BTW. So did Morrowind. Its fairly standard. Oblivion just took it too far.

I’m not to worried, tbh. I give the mod community seven months before we see an end to that nonsense.

Also, I hope “like fallout” doesn’t have any relation to “like fallout’s albino scorpions”. Those fuckers were the most OP thing since Totaltarian governments.

Yeah, as did daggerfall (and maybe even arena). Oblivion was like to the extreme though, but I think fallout had a decent system for doing that - so if its like that I’m sure it will be fine.

I’m sure they wouldn’t go back to a method that everyone hates anyway and if they do, the community will definitely fix it.

I’m just glad the faces in this one don’t look like every single one of them was deformed. You can already tell from this pic that they are way better:

Where can I see more of those higher quality scans?

I would also like the higher quality scans.

Page 4 of this thread has them, second post.

Also, I just noticed something about one of the scans:
This guy

Kinda looks like this guy

Just a little

For anyone who is interested. It’s mostly unrelated to Skyrim but it does have some neat concept art in the back ground and a geographical map.

That’s the other stuff gi will be doing/did already.

Holy shit, Bethesda is a huge studio.

Still weary about this, but at least they have gone back to the drawing board, I really hated that all missions played out in the same locations. I am however skeptical about this new engine, especially given the amount of grahical fidelity and AI going into it, looks like I may have to upgrade to an i5 or i7 processor.

Anyway I’m guessing PCGamer UK will have a article in the upcoming Feb issue

Be interested to know how much forging can be done; customizable from a preset selection of shape, design, material or even add decoration from all that gold, silver, or gems that use to be uselessy cheap to sell

With the quests and stuff being pass off able to other NPCs, It sounds like we will finally be rid of that Essential character nonsense. Nothing like having a dragon bellow through town and having Questy Mcneedme still standing there asking for his Nirnroot.

Oh. I hope the children can be… err, dealt with.

Meh, mods will deal with the cheating children…

Will we be able to buy sweeties for the kiddies :fffuuu:

Candywagon… hmmm…

In-game pedophilia ring?
