Yeah, honestly I never noticed camera shaking either. Of course, in oblivion the amount of time I spent on a horse was almost nill, and I expect it will be the same way with Skyrim.
I never noticed camera shaking. I just prefer 1st person all the time.
I also prefer the roll system. But since its like FO3 it should at least have that skill level cut off. Which is good.
I just do, camera shaking doesn’t make me nauseous (low fov does tho so Beth better not make this a shit port with 65 fov) And I like one consistent point of view.
I like a little head bob when on horseback in first person. It looks alot better and feels more natural like riding on an actual horse.
I’ve ridden horses a few times in my life and in my experiences, bobbing up and down is something you deffinately can’t miss. The horse isn’t a fucking car. It gallops bouncing the rider up and down.
No Fps game has ever made me nauseous in any way. I think if a game focuses on first person view as it’s main perspective, then it should have fpv for vehicles/horseback too.
Go play Descent.
Vomit induced by camera shake is LIES. If it wasn’t, games would have removed camera shake a long time ago. Hell, there are some FPSes that running around involves more shake than riding a horse did in oblivion.
Playing on a laptop is a problem for me. I can’t play half-life on my laptop or I’ll be ready to puke in less than half an hour. I prefered riding horses in Oblivion once my speed had climbed to a certain point because it actually reduced the risk of making me feel sick. However, I haven’t had any such issues with my desktop unless I’m playing some really old low res games.
The only time that a FPS has made me nauseous was in Modern Warfare 2, I was playing The Pit, at the part where you’re supposed to rush up the stairs and knife the target, I just got dizzy and got a huge headache. Only happened once.
I agree that it’s dumb to not allow both first and third person for horseback. I can’t imagine I would use a horse very much, but it’s the principle of it.
And Oblivion did force you into third person during the mount/dismount animations.
FPS’ without headbob look funny to me. i used to hate it back in the day but now that i’m so used to it, games without heabob feel “floaty” to me. Playing Turok on the N64 was my first experience with more-than-subtle movement. The camera even pointed upwards and downward with your jump which was way more than games like Duke Nukem did. it gave me headaches at first but later on, with Half-Life, i started using a mouse and headbob wasn’t as important. But once i got used to S.T.A.L.K.E.R., head-bob is a must for me in any FPS.
For me, it’s all about immersion.
First person gun bob and hands are always a necessity for me too. Mirror’s Edge and F.E.A.R.'s first person animations were what MADE the games for me. F.E.A.R. has been the first and only FPS to get melee combat PERFECT. The realistic camera movement added force behind every attack, turn and jumpkick. Even if some games DON’T bob, i noticed that i make the camera bob myself with the mouse. When my girlfriend watched me play through Extraction Point, she commented on the “realistic camera work during shootouts”, but i confessed that it was all my doing. i swerve around corners, sweep rooms, duck and cover and actually bob the camera when sprinting.
-Kawai Tei-
Shadow of Chernobyl’s headbob is ridiculous without the Complete mod.
Anyone knows any limitations on the dual wielding on Skyrim? (besides the obvious one handed stuff only)
I mean wouldn’t it be cool to have a shield on both hands
Off topic: My Internet is finally fix’d ,yay
My Oblivion save keeps crashing when loading, damn
I force head-bob in Half-Life when a nice beat comes on. Does that count, Tei?
i’m also guilty of nodding and shaking my head in Half-Life when people ask Gordon questions.
in Clive Barker’s Undying your hair actually DOES whip back and forth if you jerk the camera around.
-Kawai Tei-
You can’t dual wield shields.
Damn
Maiq : Why does it need two shields? What will it fight with?
They say the best defense is a good offense.
-Kawai Tei-
Haha, yeah.

Leave him alone.
-(rot)(fodder-
You could bash people’s heads in with your shields.

I like using my penis to defeat my enemies.
