TES V announced at last - it's Skyrim!

@surplus: I love collectibles, Not so much like in fallout when there were only like, 12 cola bottle sized ones across the whole wasteland, but those doomstones in oblivion were pretty cool.

@Manky: perhaps it’s more of a dragon whisper?

'Twas a joke, my good man.

Also, I love collectibles for some reason. It gives me even more reason to explore and have something to show for it, I guess.

It’s described that it is whisper in the article, I was just too lazy to specify that.

I wasn’t sure if it was a joke, but I wanted to make sure you had read the awesomeness of that info. There shall be far greater things than a meager rehash of the classic bullet time.

As far as collectible’s it depends on the game for me. Most of the collectibles which only point is for 100% completion or an achievement I don’t do (the exception being Bully). I often try to find all collectibles that have a good reward but it frustrates me when they are so hard to find or cryptic that I need guides. Especially since these aren’t just worthless trophies I hope they are accessible via normal play, ie side quests, rumors, or some kind of thing to make it still fun to find yet not random.

I prefer it when they are just sprinkled throughout the land and not really tied to quests. It makes exploring just that little bit more fun for me.

I got the feeling that knowing the language and being Dragon Born were two completely different things. Just because the skeletons know the language doesn’t mean they have the ability to harness it’s power.

Dragon Shouts should be an interesting mechanic at least, I just hope it works well enough that it’ll actually be useful instead of a neat gimmick.

Desktop backgrounds :awesome:

Meh, I’ve seen better. Too advertisementy.

HQ scans for those who are interested:

The only problem I have with them is the ugly Game Informer logo, but that’s mostly hidden by my taskbar.

BTW I’d like to see these back grounds to add to my Windows 7 theme :3

Couldn’t have said it better myself. When I played Oblivion for the very first time, I trotted out of the prison sewer tunnel, said fuck the main quest, and headed out to my own curiosities and interests on my own.

WAYYYY better experience that way. And I actually didn’t open my map until about 45 mintutes of pure exploration and sight seeing on foot. I remember discovering my first province. It was pretty neato. haha

Well, I have a new background. I usually don’t put stuff like that up on my desktop, but today, I’ll make an exception.

November should hurry up. Do you think we’ll get some video this month?

Awesome scans, BTW.

According to GI we will be getting another art video at least. And although I don’t know if there will be a video but we will be getting further details on the combat system and UI in addition to the art video yet to come.

I feel like double posting to bump the thread for this

is a worthy cause.

Never before have I played a magic character right off the bat, but this may have to change. :awesome:

Holy tits this is looking nice! I’ve recently been playing Oblivion again and I’m tempted to make my own version of the Morrowind theme. Such an awesome tune. :stuck_out_tongue:

Wow, bookmarking spells! So new!

Just pointing that out.

look at second pic: staff and sword combination . someone has to mod a balrog into that game! or 2…or 1000…for none of it shall pass, once it crosses my path

they are releasing so much media(edit: information). i feel like i somewhat could spoil the fun/suprise if i keep reading every new info about the game, but its so tempting : /
also i sense insanity crawling into my mind…can´t…await…too…awesome

They really aren’t releasing much. They have, what, three screenshots and a few concept art pics?

Wizard duels you numpty. :hmph:

FUCK YES! Cold spells slow enemies down. That was something I loved about cold in Diablo 2.

And also, that’s great that block is now timing based.
