TES V announced at last - it's Skyrim!

I just looked at the calendar, and I get paid the day Skyrim comes out.

This monetary security makes me happy.

I’m fuckin pumped for this.

You’ve been saying that for most of the year.

Who hasn’t?

Bobby Kotick

That’s actually the first time i’ve said “I’m pumped” lol

but anyway, i’d say it plenty more times bc i am deffinately looking forward to this game.

Great. i’m now at that point of excitement that i’m regularly having dreams and borderline nightmares about playing the game and realizing that it’s not what i was hoping for. i literally just awoke from the worst “Skyrim is gonna suck” nightmare where they threw out EVERY skill at the last moment to appeal to more gamers and gave every other NPC a shotgun to balance the combat system. They also did away with customized character faces and coughed up a list of 3 face presets per race and canned half the detail choices to speed up the character creation process.

Rest assured -

G4/X-Play “Exclusive” Preview

I think the entire gaming community is pumped and ready for this game.

Oh, you mean like fallout.

How obsessed with a game you got to be to even have nightmares about it. Damn.

Are you guys getting it on day one or will you wait until the obligatory bethesda bugs and glitches get ironed out?

I’m waiting a little closer to release date to see if they make any special pre-order bonuses or discounts.

Already preordered and ready. Hopefully there will be a preload on steam, and I’ll be able to play the instant it is out. Luckily I have the whole morning and afternoon of the 11th free.

I’m buying a PS3 the day before it comes out, so I’ll probably have to wait a month. Which will probably be for the best, considering their last few launches.

…I’m not sure if that’s better or worse than my “Skyrim has the same environments and items as Fallout: New Vegas” dream from last night.

Check out that beheading sequence. There are so many cool new things they have added in this game.

Thanks for the vid.

I’m at uni from 10 to 5 D=. And I’ll probably get out after, and I’m working the whole weekend D=D=

Damn I don’t have enough free time.

:fffuuu:

Well… The morning/afternoon of the 11th is ALL I’ve got that weekend. I won’t even be home until Sunday night/(probably) Monday afternoon. :frowning:

Funny how that EXACT scene was how i imagined the introduction to the game. Back when Skyrim was first announced, articles were a little more detailed, saying specifically that “you escape from your own execution”, rather than “you start as a prisoner” as as being reported today.

When i thought of how the game would open, that very scene was how i imagined it, down to the executioner and even the backdrop. i swear i got this strange feeling of deja vu as thought i’d already scene that clip before.

EDiT : Also, check out what the ESRB says about game content. The ESRB statement reads, “As players engage in melee-style combat, some sequences are highlighted by slow-motion effects, particularly for decapitations.”, and they even mention a minigame not mentioned by journalists or Bethesda; “…players can engage in a drinking contest with another character, which eventually results in slurred speech (e.g., “One more. No problemsh . . . Thash grape!”).

The beheading scene wasn’t how I had imagined the beginning of the game, but that one semi-panoramic scene of the ice floes and the northern lights was EXACTLY how I imagined the area, only I had pictured it foggy and from a slightly different angle. The open sea was to the left in my head, as if looking at it from the opposite angle.
