TES V announced at last - it's Skyrim!

I had managed to make my character a master in destruction spells. So I went to Winterhold to see what little they could teach me. I ran into J’zargo, a Khajit claiming to be powerful in the ways of destruction magic.

After doing his quest and becoming very annoyed with his fruitless attempts at creating a spell, I made him my apprentice. After he failed me in combat, and was subdued to his “surrendering” animation, I made sure he would never further himself in destruction magics.

I Fus Ro Dah’d him off a cliff.

I would like to apologize for my previous statement in this thread. While Skyrim is in fact, a bad port, it is definitely not as shitty as Oblivion, and I am thoroughly enjoying it.

In which way is it a bad port?

Maybe it’s because my version is pirated but I exceed the recommended requirements by a pretty wide margin and still get slowdown a lot.

Set your settings lower
And piracy affects performance? lol

My beautiful character.

Some very distinctive facial features to be sure.

SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Which one of the Nazgul is he?

I beat an invisible dragon called Viinturuth today. Did anyone else get that glitch?

He’s the annoying one that just gets in the way.

Also, better lit and less badass picture:

I encountered that bug before. There should be hoods specifically made to make your face disappear (with the option of red eyes) just for the bad assery.

It should also make friendly NPCs flee with terror.

I think there is evidence of porting, or at least consolitis, such as the awkward and inaccurate menus, the 2GB ram cap, and the fact that a lot of shadow rendering is run on the CPU. However, I wouldn’t call it a bad port. That would put it in the ranks of such games as The Force Unleashed, a port so bad that it was pretty much unplayable without an Xbox controller.

On another note, I downloaded this glowing ore vein mod from Skyrim Nexus…it’s totally the best thing ever. I can actually FIND the damn things now, since they don’t just look like rocks. I’m curious to try some of the HD packs and character enhancements, but since my PC’s already struggling it’s hardest to run Skyrim at high-to-ultra settings, I think I’ll hold off on them until I upgrade my PC. Hopefully they’ll be complete and thoroughly tested by then. I’m also a bit wary of them, since a lot of those “HD” mods seem to just be a guy running sharpen on the textures in Photoshop, but that Xenius guy’s character enhancements look pretty good. Any thoughts on them? Anyone tried any other mods that they like?

This may be silly, but I made a gold necklace in the Dawnstar blacksmith and gave it to Stenvar, who was keeping me company (and who I intend to marry). I kept blacksmithing away, and when I was done, I checked his inventory and saw that he had equipped it.

My heart almost exploded with giggly fangirl joy.

Is anyone able to run shadow quality at 8192 x 8192 perfectly?

It’s still playable but it’s dragging majorly.

-UI (The UI doesn’t even give a fuck about mice)
-Graphics
-Unable to name save files
-Things they could have done that aren’t graphics per say but depend on hardware power.

Lets be honest the only reason to get TES on PC anymore is mods. Xbox is their lead platform now.

so I’m a good way into the game and just don’t care about any of the factions or sides of the war, and, I’m not even sure what the main quest line is.

the only thing I find myself caring about is taking down the Thieves guild, Dark Brotherhood, and Thalmor. so, are there quests for these? is it even possible? if I kill every thieves guild member or thalmor I find will I eventually get them all or will they just keep respawning?

UI and optimization are really the main issues, and of those, if the UI was fixed I wouldn’t even notice it was a console port.

Yeah, I’m doing the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller quest and the dungeon I went to has some really bad fps hits when I reach the main area.

The only bad thing about this game is that you can’t kill children. Trying to fus ro dah some kids off a cliff, but nooooo, we have morals here in Tamriel.

get a mod bro

Here’s a mod for you.
