TES V announced at last - it's Skyrim!

Yeah, I think some of the perk trees are laid out in strange ways. For me, I dislike the backstab perk. I don’t need it as I am an archer, but in order to get the 3x bow damage modifier perk, I have to get backstab first. It’s odd because you’d think someone would have realized that a good number of people’s playstyles are determined by weapon, not just “I want to be sneaky”.

Also I need an invisible helmet mod. A lot of the armor perks are useless to me because I don’t like wearing a helmet (purely for aesthetic reasons).

I’m the same. While it might be realistic that one would put a helmet on to go into battle, I didn’t spend all that time creating and tweaking a character to get just the look I want only to bury them under a butt ugly hat.

Instead you hide it behind the back of it’s head.

Not to mention this game has the best looking armor in the series.

i’m waiting for a simple mod that adds armor ratings to clothes or something that allows me to armorize and accessorize my character without covering him up with steel. i’ve looted and tried on every set of duds in the testing hall and there’s only about 5 sets of clothes and NO armor that fits my character type.

Currently, the only armor my main quest character wears is boots and gloves/bracers. Pouches, pockets and bags are also a must for me to explain how i’m able to carry around my junk. While dressed in full steel armor, there’s no pockets or any other way carry around my collection of potions and alchemy ingredients. Thankfully, clothes in Skyrim have plenty of pouches.

OH! And capes and cloaks. i want capes and cloaks…BAD!

I like the armour, just not the head gear. One particular disappointment was when I put an ancient Nord helmet on my mage character and the horns turned to antlers. What’s up with that?

A mod to be able to adjust the armour rating would be nice so I could wear my favorites instead of just what protects my character, but I have a few quests to wrap up before I’ll consider making changes to the game.

Official 4GB patch was released today. Hooray!

I recall such a mod on the Nexus, basically allowed you to craft “imbued” armors.

How do you get there? I tried typing coc testinghall into the console, but it did nothing. This was a while back.

Type “coc qasmoke” wtihout quotes. Should work.

To get back, I typed “coc ustengrav” (again, no quotes) and got teleported right back to Ustengrav.

“COC QASMOKE”

EDiT : Holy shit, you are literally the FASTEST post ninja! Our posts were within 2 seconds of eachother.

I feel special. :retard:

Thanks to both of you for not LMGTFY’ing.

Excellent, I must have missed it when I was in there the other day. I got the mod to smooth out the Breton face textures as well as “no more blocky faces”. Huge improvement.

I saw it in part of a larger mod compilation, but I think it was available individually.

Man, I wish that this game was fixed for ATI and AMD gfx cards. It’s already bad enough that I was playing on my brother’s laptop. But even with all that, this game makes for some epic screen shots.

A few user made patches fixed the ATI problems for me.

Beth was nice enough to leave Helgen in tact for modders! After the big fuss over Kvatch Rebuilt and other mods in Oblivion, i guess they saw need to leave in something for modders to go on.

if you change the start cel to QASMOKE, or some other cell, you can COC yourself to Hegen and see it’s not destroyed yet. Not until you get into the main quest does all Hell break loose there. Modders could quite possibly put together alternate start and main quest delay mods and customize Helgen as though it never got torched.

i thought that the introduction took place in a whole different cell. Turns out the village actually goes through changes while you’re face down in the dirt as apposed to warping you to a new location.

Does anyone know how to disable the High Dynamic Range (HDR)? It’s bugging me and seems too dramatic as an effect and disabling it usually improves performance quite a bit with my experience in disabling it in other Bethesda games. i have tried changing it with the skyrim configurator with the mod that our BMS member modded, and i have tried disabling it manually myself in the skyrim steam configuration folder and my computer’s skyrim config folder.

HDR is still stands strong. Help is much appreciated.

it doesn’t kill my FPS like other people but it does make fighting dragons at night nearly impossible. As if surviving a blast of fire directly to the face wasn’t difficult enough, trying to regain my vision after wards is worse.

The bright-to-dark transitions got me killed over and over and over trying to take out the dragon outside the Forsworn Camp in the main quest. it was dark as fuck out and there’s virtually NOWHERE to hide from the flames out on that tiny bridge and island. i spent almost 45 minutes blind firing arrows like an idiot, trying to take down the fucker’s health and make him land!

if i’d recorded that fight, there’d only be a total of 2 minutes of frames that weren’t completely white or black.

Exactly my point. it’s almost so unrealistic that it’s annoying me. plus removing it will not only satisfy me bc the effect is making my vision at night all fucked up, but would also aloow more frames in. So it’s a win-win.

If only i could figure out how to disable the fuckin thing. I tried googling it and found the same stumped people doing the same fail attempts as me. So if there are any wizards here who have a remedy, it’s be much appreciated.
