Team Fortress Classic vs Team Fortress 2

That’s exactly how it is in shitton of other MP FPS, like Return To Castle Wolfenstein, for instance (in fact, RTCW’s medic’s / respawn mechanics are far more interesting then in TFC).
While valve managed to do something more original and fun in TF2.
In fact, I would prefer RTCW multiplayer to TFC anytime.

TF2’s medics or more…“medical”, wether TFC is just throwing healthpacks around like it’'s Christmas, and meanwhile infecting them with a virus, which hurts them over time and then finish them off with the super nailgun. Which sounds geuinely like TF2 pyro, the most broken class in history. So far from skill. In TF2, the medic is the boss of the team. He can keep the team healthy and fresh and get them to higher health.

^this. I already told that TF2 concept is far more original.
While TFC concept is generic as hell and is handled MUCH better in shitton of other games.
Like RTCW. There, he even had a syringe so that dying teammates can choose to
wait for him to revive them or simply move to respawn queue. There was also the option the option to finish off the fallen opponent you’ve killed (or rather, fatally injured) so that he is forced to go into respawn queue since he cannot be revived by medics in his team.
That whole concept added TONS more depth to RTCW’s gameplay.

Wait, you’re arguing on behalf of a game with the most broken class in history?

Yeah, I’ve played Enemy Territory, it’s out there for free, and as a pyroficionado of course I’ve tested my talents there. I like Battlefield 2’s shock-paddles too, but these are both inspired by real theatres of combat where men did/would die slowly without medical attention. Striving for realism, you could say. Team Fortress would be a different game with such death delays, which is why I’m guessing Klaus still doesn’t zap ragdolls back to life in TF2.
The question is, would you change the game to “improve” that aspect of 1/9 jobs?

Oh, right, and TFC came out before RTCW was a glimmer in a developer’s eye, over two years prior.

I don’t recall any other game introducing an infectious disease. quite an original and fun use of the medic’s abilities.

Tell me, what are TF2’s spawns like?
For being a Half-Life 1 mod remaking a Quake 1 mod, TFC’s spawns were quite effective, and to bash it for being less interesting than a WWII game years later isn’t valid criticism.

Hhahaha, wow that’s rare. I’m guessing you were playing sniper when you got this image.

You are quite a nitpicky fuck.

Parentheses, you sorry fool. They are there for a reason.
Motherfucker, why oh why are you taking shit out of context?

My entire point was that there exist far better alternatives for TFC, and that I cannot comprehend why homosexuals like you still drool over it. Shit is obsolete. Your arguments above are invalid.
Once again, stop taking everything out of context.

It’s not like TFC’s pyro was any good too. In fact, tf2’s pyro is better too. Still broken, but better.

It should be evident that he tried to troll.

Oh, I saw the parentheses, I was just asking because I actually don’t know, and the topic of spawn methods came up. Also, that game is TFC’s competition in this thread. You’re trying to trash one of the sides, but from your upset I’m assuming TF2 has pretty much the same spawning tradition. I don’t blame it.

You can keep saying my arguments are invalid, and hold everything you’ve ever said as being out of context, or you could respond objectively to the issue. At the very least, if you wish to attack my style of debate, you could pull one example of dishonest quotery, and put me in my place with an ultimate reason for ceasing engagement.

As it lies, I see no such tricks.

TFC’s pyro, broken? How?? I find some other classes terribly broken when mixed with bunnyhopping, getting the heaviest and slowest class (with the most damaging gun and special-grenade) to hop as fast as the flag-running scout… The pyro’s only breakage is when he faces one of those cowards who jumps around faster than either munition in his arsenal can travel.

If you’d actually read my posts and not wank at them like you do, you’d understand that the talk was mainly about MEDIC.

And if this isn’t dishonest quotery:

I don’t know what is.
Stop taking shit out of context you tiresome fuck.

It doesn’t have any role in the game.

Yes, yes he does, beyond a doubt more than the soldier (mr. versatile). But the pyro remains adaptable

The setting is between bases, and the role is weakening enemies. You have no idea how powerful the offensive pyro is in getting enemies to sit and heal in their spawns, and how good they are at taking a chunk of health/armour from every enemy that walks through the front door.

Furthermore, with the IC, he can serve as a glorious antisniper by making them dodge an incessant salvo of slow rockets from afar or burn to death.
No other class is capable of clearing the enemy battlements of snipers. Every other combat class can only truly clear half. And a countersniper will kill one enemy sniper and recharge. The pyro, though, will send every enemy sniper running to their respawn if he doesn’t get shot. [COLOR=‘DimGray’](Which sadly happens a lot, since the experienced snipers recognize that threat. Even when he gets shot, this bullet would probably have landed in a teammate, so his life was no more wasted than that of a sniped spy.)

I don’t care if this is a necropost or not: Yeah, sure. Clearing the battlements of snipers=important role :meh: I’d rather have someone that kills them, rather than someone who weakens them.

TFC is gay
/thread

I wouldn’t say gay. it’s alright I guess. But it’s definitely not better than Team Fortress 2. (it’s worse)

(way worse)

Also it’s way worse than BBQ-awesome RTCW.

TF2 is fun, TFC isn’t.

TFC is all about boasting about your über1337 skillz. TF2 is all about boasting about your über1337 hatz.

You fail to fail
