I didn’t even know this was on, and if I did I probably still would’ve stayed home. I doubt protesting will change anything, knowing our backwards, old fashioned, stubborn, pig-headed politicians.

I read in my recent copy of “Xbox 360 Magazine” that the new “Alien vs Predator” will be released in australia despite its 18+ rating.

Originally banned and with Rebellion having no plans to dumb the game down for the 15r Rating in AU, Sega took the stand and gathered some lawyers and voila AVP is to be released in AU with an 18r rating.

on that same not… Army of Two: 40th Day is not to be released in Germany because you can shoot people in the back (example) and it goes against the geneva convention.

We’re not as strict as Germany when it comes to censorship in videogames, but we’re getting pretty damn close.

You know what Michael Atkinson needs? Some crazy threat making loony to shove his ass into acceptance. That is a joke, but maybe someone should take away some liberties he takes for granted as an adult. Take away his right to drink, smoke, vote, and be a politician. I mean if he thinks people over 18 aren’t able to put video games in context, maybe he shouldn’t be in power because. Logically as someone over 18 he is included in the group he fears are unable to make the distinction… If he cannot put video games in context how can he be an effective elected official? How can he be expected to handle alcohol or tobacco responsibly?

well Australians are naturally lazy, we don’t really try to change much, we just go with the flow. On the other hand if we ran out of our homes in riot, burning cars and attacking police, im sure the 18+ rating would come soon.
