Super Mario Galaxy 2

Nintendo is going to release the sequel to the spectacular Wii game Super Mario Galaxy .

Introducing new powerups and problems, and of course Yoshi!
So what are your thoughts on this game?
Will it bring the Wii back in on the software market?
Please speculate and tell me your opinions on this game, I for one can’t wait for this game!

Here are some links to trailers if you’re unfamilliar to the game:

It’s going to take more than a sequel to another Mario game to bring Nintendo back on the software market. There’s nothing wrong with Mario, but when most of the stuff being released on the Wii right now is shovelware, I think there needs to be a completely original idea to bring them back into the spotlight. (If an “unoriginal” title were to do it, my money would be on Other M coming out later this year over Mario Galaxy 2)

I never got around to finishing the first one, but I really enjoyed what I played and look forward to this sequel. Hopefully it ends up being a good sequel and doesn’t kill Mario Galaxy.

No doubt, I will probably buy Mario Galaxy 2 as well, seeing as it comes out two days after I turn nineteen

Screw Super Mario GaLAZY 2! I want a new Zelda!

I can’t wait for that either:

I loved the first Super Mario Galaxy game, but unfortunately I don’t have a Wii anymore =[

I really want Zelda too!
But I really want Galaxy 2 now since Galaxy was the best game on the Wii, and they are introducing so much new to the games which makes it sweeter than pie!!

I’d rather have a luigi’s mansion 2 TBH.

I didn’t find Luigi’s Mansion fun, waste of money tbh.

The first game was frustrating as hell on some points, especially with the camera in combination with the controls. :rage:

Really? I really never noticed that!

I could never find het last boo on No1 :frowning: and I could also never kill the giant one. (although I was 10 at the time).

I don’t see why Mario is going back honestly…

New Zelda game looks good, and on another note I rather just have another Luigi game. Not necessarily Luigi’s Mansion 2.

Something to do with your nickname?

You just suck.

Aww you didn’t

I don’t think the Wii particularly needs to get back in to the software market, I think it will further cement their position in the market, but I hardly believe that it needs to break back into it. Given that the Wii has almost twice as many consoles on the worldwide market, and is at least at the same level as the others in some country specific markets, I don’t think any comments that the platform is “dead” or “dying” can really be substantiated to any real degree.

Super Mario Galaxy was a good game, and much closer to Mario 64 than Super Mario Sunshine (not that that game was bad, just that Mario 64 was better). It was fun, deep enough for experienced players and superficial enough to keep the less hardcore players interested. Having another game isn’t a bad thing at the end of the day.

What I believe Nintendo has to do more is actually create new games, rather than just rehashing old ones. Having another Zelda or another Mario game is good, but what’s really going to bring the console to the next level of actually being a really versatile console is having new IPs and new games. I don’t want a new Samus game in the same way that I want just a new game, which I think they’ve got the perfect platform to achieve it on. So, really, the ball is in their court, and it will stay there for at least the near future.

They need both new games and a library of thirdparty games, but seeing as the Wii’s hardware isn’t the best, a lot of Thirdparty developers tend to move to the 360 and Ps3.

Updated, now with a Luigi trailer!
