At any rate, the Workshop would still be a pretty neat idea, if only to keep all the BM mods in a single, easily findable location~

And, don’t quote me on this, but I’m pretty dang sure that with this system, you don’t even need to delete the original files to override them. I think Source checks for custom content before going to the default “vanilla” content.

And yeah, I was bringing up Workshop just because of that, and because all of these mods can get more “traffic”, so to speak.

I always thought that the chapter “Xen” should be renamed to something… well, more original. Maybe “Alienated” (being alone & amongst aliens in an alien world) or “The Borderworld”?

I think it would be better if the BMS team sticks to the orginal names of the chapters instead of changing them.

I think you can change chapter names easily in one of the .cfg or .txt files… Couldn’t tell you which one, though…

Ok some more ideas for the next version…

Crosshairs - being able to switch between the stock BM crosshairs and HL2 shape crosshair… This one is easier on my eyes… Not bothered about the health and power bar dynamic but the brackets would be nice for people like me :slight_smile:

Some more interesting cut Alpha content that would be nice to see… And when I say see I mean just snippets or glimpses for the alpha suggestions because it’s just that.

This guy may give that over…For a good cause I am sure… I think it’s from the HL2 Leaked Beta which is obviously also cut content from HL1…Not sure how much work that was to get it working? But i feel that a Manta would win against it anyhow. That Desert Launcher has blown me away though…

Except they aren’t looking to use models that they haven’t created themselves. Stuff like this isn’t going to happen.

not trying to sound brash but this stuff is out there and it’s on the cutting room floor…It’s valve content but it won’t effect future releases because this stuff is old now… Not that It needs to be included so much but that asset was originally intended for HL1 and got cut got remade for half life 2 and got cut… But it’s obvious more or less what it’s original intension was is air defense in HL1… Or atleast thats what it looks like a sam turret or something.

Because you do know the beta had a human army, the Conscripts, that were basically the remnants of the the human armies on Earth, that’s why the beta had a lot of military stuff in it
Besides that, there’s the Combine is “recycling human materials” plot in the beta

any way on topic, I miss the mp5 grenade usage from half life, made the hecu an actual threat in some locations.

Unless how the MP5 grenades work is changed ALOT, the HECU would DESTROY Gordon with the aimbot-supersonic-MP5-'nades-of-death.

Actually I have made a mistake with this Desert Launcher it was cut from HL2 not HL1 but it would make sense as an air defense system…And it seems very Early HL2… Basically I thought it looked good ok. And there is no desert in HL2… Wasteland yeah… But it’s not a desert… So there is a proper desert in Half life that is how I made the connection.

I was looking for Half life cut content… Everyone seems concerned about what got cut from the Black Mesa Mod… What about some of the stuff that got cut from the original Half life… I think it is a fair suggestion :slight_smile:

yeah forgot about the hecu’s aim bot. tehy could use a “nerfed” one, aka they would fire it at a higher arc allowing the player more time to avoid it, as well as giving it less of a chance of hitting.

Gonna chime in for the record here and state that as far as I know, we don’t use HL2 beta content in BMS. We don’t have plans to change that in the future. Remember, that content was stolen from VALVe.
