It looks like they’ll be hiring new devs soon, so maybe Text will join the team if he wants to. That could change some things, I guess.
Hopefully something is in the works. With his abilities, he would certainly be a HUGE asset.
I think he will start a job hunting when he ends with the maps.
…Maybe the game is finished (Xen, ect.), but there are just improvements and bug fixes left… I’d imagine if you’re no longer ADDING much in the way of content, you don’t need as many devs anymore…
…Just a thought.
I’m pretty sure that they’ve said numerous times that that has been the case for years.
I guess they still have a lot of touching-up left.
They also have a lot of changes/fixes to do based on community feedback, as well. …If they are/planning to do them.
This is so wrong it hurts. We’re not going to let go of developers just because we don’t need them. The people who earned their way on to the team will stay on. It’s not like we’re losing money keeping them around.
…Just a thought…
Patch… That is interesting…
Pure speculation… But I am curious if we will get a patch before the steam integration rolls out… There should be nothing to stop releasing outside of steam still in this Mod… I am actually very surprised that we have not had one yet… It could be a pretty big patch too?
Patch, update, release, same thing. Withhold your speculation until the release comes out.
I will withold any speculation of whatever it will be… But so far as the label now (Past Developer) Many of them were active developers long after the initial release… So I think they have still had a hand in whatever is forthcoming…
or atleast I hope that is the case… it’s an exciting thing to see pop up here on the forums and well perhaps a new milestone has been reached whatever that may be.
Still looking for that xena the warrior princess poster lol
You used to make some good counterstrike maps too right?
That one in the jungle temple was very good… I hope you do a deathmatch map for this.
My apologies! It wasn’t intended in that fashion. I was thinking more along the lines of developers leaving (for life stuff) because they have finished all/most of the things they need to do, and they need to move on. Not that they were “Given the boot”, so to speak. This is more to say that less devs MAY NOT mean that progress has significantly slowed or stopped. This may be a point in the mods development where less devs are required, so some felt comfortable with leaving the project to handle other matters.
And my “Just a thought” was just to maintain that I have no knowledge of the situation, and this was just my guess at it. I will refrain from making such guesses in the future.
Sorry, I had you confused with another forum user that uses copious amounts of periods. I apologize, didn’t mean to come across as crass. We get a lot of speculation on the BM forums and I’ve seen this build up into insane levels of hype and trolling. Just trying to head it off
I suggest to add dynamic spawn points, if possible…
Cause I’ve finished BM for the 5th time and if u play the mod already for a while u know every place of the enemies, when they spawn, where they spawn, where u can find the HECU…
Here’s something for the final version. The sound effect for sprinting is awfully unrealistic. It sounds more like an email being sent confirmation sound from some old email client application. Something like in the Portal games, when you’re falling and the wind is rushing around you, would be much better if you want to keep the wind sound.
Apologies aswell I think you are talking about me?
I really don’t mean any bad while I can be blunt I am honest.
Glad this is cleared up! And I totally understand the need to prevent the rumor mill.
Would be awesome if that could be implemented, dynamic crate contents too.
I think the game is fine without it. I could see it if you ramped it up to a harder difficulty, but for Easy, it helps to know exactly where they spawn and how the scripted sequences happen so that when you die, you can plan out your next attempt.
CHANGE OF TOPIC: something else for the devs to consider is a bigger hitbox on the assassins. They are so damn annoying that I just want to stab them in the face, and a bigger hitbox or less health would make them less annoying.
Pretty sure it won’t though. I can tell you from a mapper’s perspective that dealing with that would be a huge pain the in ass. Not to mention how much entdata that would take up.
Do you have any tripmines?
Tripmines? That’s the way to deal with them? I’ll try that next time. I’ve never played Half-life before this mod, so I don’t know how everybody usually plays it.
