Suggestions for the final Steam BM version

Not sure who told you that but that’s not true.

Hi your-name-here. I noticed that there are a couple new sub-forums in the News and Developer Updates forum. Is there some big news coming?

so there going to leave that vent drop as an unfinished, half assed wreck? and leave out 2 iconic moments from surface tension?

Dude they already said why they’re leaving it out. Number 1 reason, legal barriers.

darkone’s not saying that the BM Team should include the Uncut maps, he’s*
saying that the BM Team should re-make the rest of Surface Tension themselves.

*Apologies if you’re not a “He”, darkone.

I am a he, and I could have worded that a lot better, cause how I worded it made me sound like an ass, any way the devs should remake the area, as it is baddy spliced together as it is.

Okay, you are a “he”! I wasn’t 100% sure either way, and I know some people are kind of touchy about that, so I just decided to be safe. :stuck_out_tongue: I’m assuming you know it wasn’t intended as an insult.

And, gotcha. I understand. I don’t wanna de-rail this too much… but the area HAS been re-made… and very well I might add. If there is Workshop integration in the next version, it’d probabily be just a few clicks away… However, the Devs tweaking the existing maps to not overlap so horribly would be nice, if not necessary.

Consider inserting some more easter eggs.

Also, I beg you guys… please insert more cowbell where appropriate.

I’ve read that you can’t add mods (like the uncut ones or hazard course) to the final release because there is legal nonsense difficulting it, but…coudn’t you add them if you ascended the modders to honorific developers or something like that? You shouldn’t have to work (almost) if you let them mantain the maps.
In my country people say “when there is law, there is a loophole” (in spanish sounds more awesome, I swear),

He’s explained before exactly why that won’t won’t work. It’s not just about, “Oh, you’re not a team member!1!!”

Interesting, what exactly have been added?

And Raminator is now Past Developer. He is also not present in team anymore. Does that mean he left BM devs ?

Not only Raminator, but around four other level designers are no longer on the current team.

Granted, they may have left a while back and the Devs have just now gotten around to updating the team roster, but I want to think it’s a good sign that maybe the designwork for Xen has reaches some sort of milestone.

You weren’t expecting every dev to remain active forever, were you?

Combination of the roster finally being updated but also because after eight years, people want their personal lives back.

I guess that explains the hiring part.

My suggestion is to make first weapon visible in weapon gategory so that you can see them. In picture below i have weapon in each gategory, but it shows like i do not have anything except crowbar.

You found all the others already?

I know that, Crypt. I just hope exists a workaround about the rights thing. Although technical issues are probably worst…
Anyway, I will wait until someone tests the maps in the updated version, then I will play them. I want the full experience, Xen, and everything else.

Well deserved rest, but…at least they will come again to the forums, isn’t it?
(and no clues about Xen again, stupid NDA)
