Honestly, I don’t really like seeing my desktop when playing games.

Same its really puts you out of the game.

But if none of this stuff works set your desktop to black background, put the game into windowed and
make a batch file that launches the game and then kills explore.exe

taskkill /f /IM explorer.exe
LaunchStarcraft.exe
(I don’t know what the exe for starcraft is called)
Then when your gaming Ctrl+Alt+delete > Task Manger > File > New Task (Run…) > explore.exe
