Too bad most games are still for windows only, if not I could’ve finally abandoned Windows -_-
Dead link is deaaaaaad.
Edit: Nevermind.
I don’t believe it until I see it.
Notice the total absence of direct quotes from GabeN.
Yes! Finally! i can finally play GMOD on my slaved together Ubuntu PC!
Congrats and thanks to Valve for getting Steam and Source on all three major OS brands. Now, we could only convince all the other developers to support OpenGL, I could get a Linux build instead of the latest windows version when I eventually have to rebuild my computer/replace my HDD.
Now port the Linux Source engine to ARM and I’m happy.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Bring Steam to TI-89.
My abacus needs more first person shooters games on it.
Google’s project glass needs steam and source support
Gmod and hl2 on the go with no input devices
Gabe Newell has said in a podcast, that he was working on a Linuxproject at Valve.
Are they porting source to Linux so they can have a free os for their steam box console?
They don’t have any plans for a Steambox console.
Isn’t that what Valve is getting at with “wearable computing”? That could be pretty interesting if actually controlling the game somehow worked. It would just be one step closer to playing games and searching the web in our brains.
Anyone else think of Alex Jacobson’s pants-keyboard when they hear about the whole “wearable computing” thing?
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
