Steam Greenlight. A chance for BM on Steam?

^This I do think that’s not very far away, knowing Valve

Nightmare House 2 has been added for consideration, even though it is a free mod.

BM should just try it, so what if it gets taken down again, because mods don’t belonge there (yet). I would totally make up numerous fake accounts to vote for it.

BTW: does anybody know the threshold, when a game is considered popular enough?

I don’t see any problem with free software on greenlight. Afterall there are free games in Steam legitimately.

someone tell cman2k to upload the mod on greenlight!

“when it’s done” pretty much sums it all up, look, the download is the last thing they should be worried about

And don’t worry, I’m sure the devs are thinking about it

its possible to upload an unfinished mod

Why would you want to play an unfinished version of BM?

Perhaps he means that the game will be officially on Steam, when will released the final version

On the chance that Source mods are allowed on Greenlight and Black Mesa gets accepted, you’d surely want to upload the finished version when the time comes.

So, I voted for some projects on greenlight.
All’s well except… why the hell do they re-order/shuffle the projects after voting? It’s very frustrating when voting through the steam client (I suppose it’s possible to do it with a web browser opening multiple tabs so that the shuffling won’t affect you - so I’ll try that next).

With the greenlight stuff your achievements will be tracked through the steam community (if it works the way I think it does) rather than a regular download, like goldeneye source, with the achievements being in the game files; That way, uninstalling the game won’t cause a loss of achievements (though why besides having a small ass hardrive would you uninstall it?). and community screenies!!!

^wut?

Since they already have a ‘build up to release media campaign’ thought out, I’m sure they already know EXACTLY how they want to distribute it.

He meant you can add a page for a game even if it is still in development.

Tripmine Studios (makers of Guard Duty and Operation Black Mesa) said they’ll try out Greenlight with both projects.

Very, very good indeed. I can barely wait.

I dont see a huge use for Steam with singleplayer mods except what people stated previously (achievements, community screenshots) so i think putting BM DM on greenlight so patches can come out faster would make sense but until then i dont see a very big reason to

So the fact that it can be downloaded trough steam is not a good reason?

It’s the best and only reason. To speak against it is to be a fucking idiot.

Vote for Source mods on steam. It should have been implemented years ago.

Only the ultimate hipster strives to limit the audience of the things they like

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
