Just another way PC will be better than consoles?
This couldn’t come at a better time, now that both M$ and $ONY decided to show off those features as if this was something new and innovative, making steam look like the loser in this “platform war”
Sounds like a good idea.
That would be cool. We could start a thread to lend each other games.
Sweet I really hope this is true, I would love to be able to trade and share digital games. It’s one of the only things that digital games have ever really lacked. Plus it could actually help cut down piracy, or at least the perception of it. It’s so often said, “I only pirate to try games, and I buy the ones I like”. Well if your friend has it, now you could try it without risking piracy! And who knows, Valve could even set up some kind of system to lend you games for free directly from them for a limited time, giving you another way to demo the game.
And it would be absolutely AMAZING if you could actually trade games for steam wallet money or something. It’s so well known how many people buy games on a whim on Steam sales that it’s become a joke. How great would it be to turn shelved impulse buy games into credit to buy games you really want? Course that doesn’t seem to be implied at all and it’s more of wishful thinking based on some comments in that thread, but still…that would be great. sighs
without a doubt in response to M$'s DRM decisions
Seriously? People are still doing that? Jesus christ people…
Is this in response to the NSA prismatic thing? They can’t track you and read your thoughts if you don’t trigger their filters?
Micro$oft has always had a reputation as a corporate monster aiming to monopolize and exploit, and that’s why people sometimes replace the S with the dollar sign. Not that the Xbone’s initial reveal did much to dissuade that reputation…
Companies like to make money, it’s what they do.
Besides, that joke is so fucking old. It hasn’t been funny for a decade.
It’s like people expect Microsoft to read that and go “Oh my god, he wrote Microsoft with a dollar sign for an S! I now see the error of our ways and shall change the whole company’s attitude from now on…”
It’s just stupid.
Yeah, they exist to make money. Doesn’t mean they have to be dicks about it.
It’s perfectly possible to make a quality product and market it without all of the anti-consumer douchebaggery they heaped on the Xbone.
I know, I’m just tired of that joke.
I wasn’t trying to be clever or anything, I’m genuinely used to typing it like that.
at this point in time, hte "$ = ‘S’ " thing is more of a physical representation of our views of certain companies, usually used at times when we just cant bring ourselves to express said view in broader detail
besides, MS screwed up big time, even after the DRM reversal, the anger within the consumer is still present
What, like Ubi$oft?
Kind of like EA
