Stargate Movie Reboot

lol @ people expecting good creative decisions and quality from hollywood
all it’s good for is pumping lots of money into stuff and of course pulling money back out of it

maybe we went just a little too off-topic

Dude, it’s the BM forums. What did you honestly expect? :stuck_out_tongue:

I cannot condone this unless it’s a straight remake of the original movie using the (applicable) SG1 actors and filling in any plot bumps made by the transition from the original movie to the show.

Which it doesn’t look like it is.
Fuck reboots.

I’m not so sure it would work with Richard Dean Anderson after he succumbed to health issues, which has limited him from exercising. He has become, for a lack of a better word, overweight.

I think the stargate film is great and I really like SG1. I’ve only seen seasons 1 to 6 and some of seven. I know they made cast changes later in the show. I think it was great with RDA, Amanda Tapping, Chris Judge, Don s. Davis, Teryl Rothery and Michael Shanks. I didn’t like it when they killed of MS (Daniel). It was nice they brought him back in season seven. I had no problem with Corin Nemec (Jonas). I didn’t like that they killed off Teryl Rothery’s character (the doctor Janet).

^ Whoa, spoilers much?

I don’t know how to hide text so it only appears when you put your cursor on it.

A majority of us have watched the show already… I’m cautiously optimistic. We’ll see how it goes.

deleted.

So Stargate is like The Mummy in space, right?

Huh, no.

Watch the movie or something.

I saw the movie. I was joking.

Sarcasm and the internet don’t mix well…

On another note… is SGU worth watching? I saw the first episode and was like “nooope”

I would say no, but that’s just my opinion.

Season 1 was so-so but it had its moments. Season 2 got better as it progressed but unfortunately it was too late by then.

I saw around half of the episodes and would concur that it isn’t worth watching unless you are a huge sci-fi/Stargate geek that needs to see every bit of science fiction programming released. But if that were the case you wouldn’t have asked and would have just watched it at your first convenience.

The biggest problem with the show was a lack of likeable characters. The lead scientist was beyond arrogant, kept his theories to himself at the detriment of the crew, pissed off everyone around him and was right more than he deserved to be. The military were a little too gung ho. The civilian members were mostly ineffectual and worthless. Hardly anything happened, and when it did it was drawn out longer than needed to fill time. The show was a muddled mess and easily avoidable.

I am a giant Stargate Geek and I am considering watching it just for more background story for the ancients. I’m asking because I have a hard time keeping my eyes on the screen when the cast is shitty or the story is crap.

The cast was fine. It was just a lack of story, and a lack of likeable characters. Watching it was draining.
