If I’m not mistaken, the Portal effect was done in code, but I’d say it does share some code with both func_monitor and func_camera.
You can’t replicate the portals properly in a map, and the code is only available to portal and it’s mods, but with enough trickery you could make the same effect, but you’d only be able to see through one portal at a time.
