Hope you enjoy the mod and decide to pick up Half-Life 2, it’s a great game in its own right

Thanks, but I already read this page.
The thing is, that it wasn’t officially tested by a Black Mesa developer.
Also there is still the question, if you can create maps for Black Mesa, if you only have Portal 2 or Left 4 Dead or no game in your account, beause you are limited to the MP engine branch and only can select TF2 in these cases.
Thanks, but I already got a “legal” version of the game. That was simply not my point…
if you own HL2 then you can already make maps in hammer for BM
even if you only have access to the tf2 mapping tools, when you import Black Mesa’s .fgd file into hammer it should be totally set up to make BM maps.
Yes, but I would like to know how the case is, if you don’t have HL2 on your account. If you only have L4D or no purchased game on your account.
I am just thinking about other people who don’t have HL2 and who would like to know the exact requirements, so that they can decide, which game they buy for making playing and mapping for Black Mesa possible…
If you can get the Source SDK Base, you can play BM.
If you can get the Source SDK/Swarn SDK and know how to make a custom game configuration, you can map for BM.
You should be able to do both with just TF2.
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
