Source Recorder No Codec

Hi Guys,
I have a Problem with Source Recoder.
I have recorded a demo, and i want to record it to an uncompressed avi. When i type “startmovie avi” in console there doesnt come a window up where i can choose the codec. Then with "playdemo " it plays the demo verry fast. There are no Datas in the folder. I hope someone can help me
Sorry for my bad English, I’m from German.

With a name like that you should probably have figured it out by now.

the demo recorder doesn’t use a codec, it uses the ingame 3D engine even when watching a recorded demo

to record avi files you should get fraps, it allows to choose the codec and frame rate of the video

Type in console:

startmovie videoname.avi avi

That’ll work for sure… :stuck_out_tongue:

No it doesnt sorry :frowning:

Do it the hardcore way, and render tgas + wav file + put em all together in virtualdub.
Fraps in source games is silly.

is there realy no other way? If I do this, the Vido is laggy…
Thats not so good, I need ~ 1000FPS for Slowmotions…

acquire moar computational power

I have enough power to record with fraps on FullHD in 30FPS. But i need 1000FPS for Slomotions. Have you any Suggestions which Hardware i Could use to get 1000FPS with Fraps?!? I dont want to buy 2xGTX590 and an i7 Extreme at 6GHz… And then the Hard Disk limitates…
So I need Source Recorder…

If that helps, here is my System:
Phenom II BE at 4.2GHz
GTX 260 720/1565/1150
8600 GT for PhysX and 3. Monitor
M4N98TD EVO
Corsair Dominator DDR3 1333 2x4GB
I hope someone can help me now

Use my suggestion, seriously it’s the best way to do it.

You can max out your settings, and even if what you see on screen is really laggy, it will render it perfectly smooth.
