Source games Errors and Source mod Errors?

Hi, any time I try to Launch a Source Engine game or Source mod (using the older Source engine) it just gives me a Black screen, I Uninstalled the games a Few times and reinstalled them but it’s always the same thing. Do you know of any Solutions?

Also I couldn’t get any Support from Valve so I came here.

Can you get the error logs for us, and try Right-Click(on the game in steam)>Properties>Set Launch Options> and add “-dxlevel90” or “-dxlevel80” without the quotations. Try them both one at a time to see if it fixes anything.

Is it just a black screen or is the screen blacked out?
Legit copies?
PC meet system requirements?

@MDIGN Neither of them Worked.

@Crypt19 When a Try to Launch them, the game launches but the game just goes black, I can’t hit CTR ALT DEL, I just have to shut my Computer down.

Yes, they are Legit Copies.

Yes, My pc Specs are: Second gen Inter core I3 Processor, AMD Radeon, Windows 7, Maybe my Hardware could be to good to run old Source engine games?

Ha, funny guy.
Have you tried running Steam as an Admin? I used to get this error when playing Penumbra and running Steam as an Admin fixed it for me. Exit Steam all the way, right click it, run it as an admin.

What’s the native resolution on your monitor? I recall before I got my LCD, Alien Swarm gave me a black screen because the default resolution was higher than my monitor’s maximum.
I had to edit the launch options with a setting to lower the resolution, but I can’t recall what they were. Sorry.

@Crypt19 Yes, I have tried that, it didn’t do anything.

@JeffMOD I have Adjusted the Screen Resolution to make it so the game can run it and it still doesn’t do anything.

Oh, I just Fixed the Problem, I had to Adjust some Graphics settings, but thanks for the help anyways.
