SOPA is dead?!

SOPA’s dead, for now…

Same with PIPA. No telling when or if they’ll come back though. And they’ve already proven they don’t need them to take down websites.

It’s almost a given that something will pass. There’s A.) too much special interest/lobbying money and B.) too much credulity, ignorance, and myopia among lawmakers for it not to. These people don’t understand that the game has changed, and freedom of information has made certain approaches to content distribution obsolete. It’s easier for them to get behind something that tries to put the genie back in the bottle than it is for them to just accept that media distribution simply has to adapt to reality.

Best case scenario is that they’ll take a good, hard look at OPEN and pass something along those lines, but more likely we’ll get something halfway between SOPA and OPEN that, while not a total disaster, isn’t exactly awesome, either.

I always knew it wouldn’t pass, but that’s totally thanks to everyone who opposed it. (Pretty much everyone) Without them, it probably would’ve passed.

Oh great what this OPEN now?
(edit nvm)

Stalker 2 in development, for now…

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
