WW1 situations = either 2 sets of trenches separated by 500m of barren mud land, or a city that has been leveled by constant bombardments.

WW1 is quite possibly the worst setting for an AC game.

I was personally hoping for a Feudal Japan setting, but seeing as how the naval combat in AC3 was pretty damn well done, I guess I can’t complain about this.

Agreed except for WWI. As soon as the games start entering the territory of machine guns they quickly lose their appeal.

I always figured a numbered sequel indicated an entirely new section of history, a new protagonist or new engine. 18th century just seems too close to Connor’s story.

I’m reserving judgement on this till I see it, but the 4 pistols, armour like a tank and the whole skull and crossbone thing seems overkill from first impressions. Though if it’s early 1700s then Edward Teach or Blackbeard could play an interesting role…

Real pirates usually carried multiple pistols for that exact reason.
