Social media campaign starts on Facebook

This.

It’s ridiculous to think that because a few people said something negative about the mod not being out that Carlos would pull the campaign. Now nobody’s happy with the whole mess. At least when there was a promise of more media most of us were happy.

Here on the forums, at least(I don’t go on Facebook), 99% of comments in the first few weeks were positive. The few who thought they were tough enough to sign up here to bitch and complain were mostly one time posters, lurkers and their message: I’ll play it but I am pissed that it took so long. After the first few weeks after the screenshots were released, there was no point in arguing with the fact, you’ll just have to wait until after the test.

Weren’t you supposed to be in the test chamber half a hour ago?

Please! Leave me alone until after the experiment.

I think that the devs won’t release any more media because it will take the element of surpise outside the mod, so what CatzEyes mean’t is that we do not expect more media coming because we already saw more than 100 screenshots and 50 videos of the game, if we ask for more and they give us more we won’t enjoy the game because we know what’s coming…
Maybe it’s time to support and give our cheers to the devs because the mod is closer and closer to its release and stop asking for something that we will not enjoy.
Maybe it’s time more than never to start having a little more patience…i know it’s been years, but it’s the final straight

I agree that if the dev team had a plan for the campaign leading to the release, they should probably follow it through, disregarding the common troll(s).

However, it’s better to cancel it, if something has changed dramatically (e.g. internal release schedule extended), which would force the campaign to drag out and lose focus from the core concept of “leading up to” the release.

I have been following the new twitter posts, but I don’t get along much with facebook, so I dropped visiting that page after the “like” gathering campaing was over.

That is a stupid reason to Cancel it. you can’t let a few negative comments affect it in this way.

I only trust posts by Carlos Montero. There have been so many cases where I trusted the word by one of the other devs and where I got disappointed in the end.

I agree with you.

Agreed. However this is the pattern. Didn’t they (devs) do pretty much the same with the twitter feeds on the main page (stopped updating them) because of too much negative bullshit from the community?

Not that I blame them, but for fucks sake, who gives a shit what the small whiny percentage of the community thinks? Just roll on and fuck em, do what you plan and ignore the idiots.

Surely the devs wouldn’t punish the entire community by withholding content because of some negative feedback. You shouldn’t respond to negative feedback anyways. That just gives power to the naysayers - they win. I for one am more than grateful to have a little steady stream of updates before release.

Not to mention that the naysayers usually get ripped to shreds on these forums anyway. From what I’ve seen, this community does a pretty decent job of policing itself when it comes to the negative bullshit about the mod.

Well they have to do something, they pretty much “re-announced” the mod on facebook, yes it’s free but when you announce something, free or not you’re asking people to be interested in your product, they can’t just go back into their hiding holes and expect everyone to wait another 7-8 months without any word on progress, we’ll find out this year if they really did learn from their 2009 mistake.

Hey, Cman2k, what’s the current definitive word on the media campaign roll-out? Is what CatzEyes93 stated actually true, that it’s been cancelled? Now is definitely not the time to be a mute!

Called it :stuck_out_tongue:

So everything’s back to before the campaign again. Ehh, well.

Start a global social media campaign which will be the beginning of release party, show a few screenshots.
Go into silence.
Decline all said and screw media campaign, return to “When it’s done” plan like nothing happen.

So, uh, what’s this was all about?

All we have to do is start a thread called “social media campagin ENDS on facebook”

Disgusting. Absolutely outrageous.

THIS!!!

I guess the media campain is still going forward, minus the “social”

There has always been backlash, so in that logic, why did the campaign even begin in the first place?

NOW, there’s gonna be serious backlash, even from your regular forum members here, including me. If there is not even an official announcement saying the campaign has stopped, you devs deserve it, sorry.
