So Mininova is Dead ?

I’m sure you will break the law in some form or another,
I’m a thief.
Your a criminal.

Secondly even if it ruining PC gaming its ruining Console gaming as well, You can freely download Ps3 and xbox360 versions of games just as easily as PC games, and with consoles having large hard drives and wireless technology it doesn’t take much effort to play ya pirated game.

Where has that been proven? I’d like to see any correlative evidence there. The games industry say that piracy is killing it, but they’re not exactly impartial (since, you know, they want more moneys).

Infinity Ward sold Modern Warfare 2 like 5 million times in 24 hours time, only a few percent coming from PC sales. Not to mention the game costs 60 dollars, you can easily play through the entire campaign within 3 hours.

Whoever thinks piracy is killing studios…

No but it’s piracy that discouraged them from supporting our platform, dedicated servers and such amirite?

Edit: Yes I lied, I’ll stay here to point out a few flaws here and there but I’m not going to get involved in your pointless argument.

ITT I’M A BETTER PERSON THAN YOU ARE

That “only a few percent” was from retail sales. British retail sales. Only.

Actually no that’s not what it’s about at all. Massive fail on your part, but I’ll let it slide if you give me a 13 year old indonesian boy.

your joke =/= funny

Piracy is not the reason they give less support for the PC, here is an example:

Maybe you don’t know, but I do, Infinity Ward has supported PC modding and dedicated servers since the original Call of Duty release. We had a large modding community that has been active since day one.

Now with Modern Warfare 2 they’re just like “modtools? dedicated servers? no” - not because of piracy - simply because they don’t want us to make custom content so that they can charge money for already planned mappacks. Without modtools people are surely going to get bored and they will buy the mappacks.
Because Call of Duty is so popular they figured “what the hell, they’ll buy it anyway so lets charge 60 dollars for it”.

They don’t give shit about us, they destroyed the entire modding community in a split-second decision, and they never warned us about it.
Looking at IWnet it’s obvious they’ve been planning this since day one yet always kept on saying that “it will be the same like before”.

In the beginning they’re like “we love the community, support us because we support you!” but once the cash flow has been established they’ll fuck you over for a percentage.

That’s why I said discouraged.

with all the debate and wars that happened here ,I dunno what to say ,seriously

Johnkiller u made a valid point ,but I imagine u as this person whos brutally trying to force us to believe in what he says

Instead of pulling emotive bullshit out of your ass perhaps you should provide us with some evidence?

If the game deserves the money, it gets the money. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t deserve to waste my money.

Also, piracy is a valid way to get games that are never on the shelf anymore.

Then again, if it is a solid game, I usually buy it to give credit to tea–ahem–the developers.

well i downloaded daggerfall from tpb dos that mean im is a thief is the only game what i have torrrent or any file for that mater

I don’t know, since I couldn’t understand a lick of that sentence.

exactly ! I was actually looking for Carmageddon and still no luck in finding it :S

There’s no way that piracy will be the fall of pc gaming. Some people might want to convince you as so. But that are two things that get in the way:
1: If I do like a game I downloaded, I will spread the word about it. I always do. I’ll recommend it to friends, post it on blogs and what not. Basicaly advertising the game. I’m certain I’ve made many people buy games by simply recommending it.
2: If I download a game, I wasn’t planning on buying it in the first place. So if there was no pirating, they’d make the same amount of money as if there was pirating.
Of course there are always some people that’ll just skip buying alltogether and only download, but I’m sure the recommending compensates for it.

That’s what reviews are for, dipshit.

Pirating a game obviously means you want to play it. And thus, you have to pay up to play it.
That’s life.

You: :retard:

Wow, have you even bothered to read the responses in the last 2 pages?

No, I don’t believe he’s very good at reading.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
