Sketchup to Source Hammer problems

I made a moderately simple model in Sketchup for importing to Hammer, and used the VMF plugin to export it. When loading it in Hammer editor, however, this pops up:

“BlockArray< ?, 6, 86 > -too many blocks needed.”

and the program quits. Any idea why this is happening, and how I can fix it? I can also send the original file, if anyone’s interested in troubleshooting it.

But… Why?
Just use Hammer…

that’s not how you import models into source

Just don’t use the valve sketchup plugins.

I was originally told to model it in sketchup for a static presentation. Then my boss thought it would be a good idea to have an interactive exhibit, and Hammer immediately surfaced from my mind. But I am not about to painstakingly model the entire environment again.

Besides the plugin, which apparently is shit, any other ideas?

There’s no other way to import Sketchup files into Hammer?

I doubt it, it just wouldn’t be useful.

For plain architecture, I’ve found the Sketchup plugins to be perfectly serviceable. And maybe it’s a case of just having had more experience with Sketchup, but I find it easier to sketch (no pun intended) out a map in Sketchup before moving to Hammer.

How simple/complex is the model exactly?
If you still need help, I’d be happy to compile a model for you, if you’re willing to send me the file.

It’s pretty large, which is probably why it wouldn’t export. Thought I’d switch over to something more native, like Unity. Thanks for the help though.
