i wouldn’t have said anything if you didn’t post that. now i’ve watched it i know what you mean. the destruction doesn’t look authentic. animation still looks good but its lacking.

I’m back with more hovercraft

Glowy crystals underwater:

And another waterfall:

That’s a pretty sexy rim there.

Me, I’ve actually been drawing shit irregularly lately, been posting it on my tumble-er WHICH YOU CAN CHECK NOW THANK YOU. Figure it’s as good a time to post it as any. Hell, I should probably post pix here too, might as well keep this thread alive knowatimsayin? Come on thread, move faster!

kicks

Made some music with fake instruments. Finishing up a little recording rig so my next endeavor will have actual strings n’ drums!

The intro kinda reminds me of the music on the snowy maps in Worms Armageddon

Also did a test with physics, tried to recreate this:

“what’s a matter? Just jump ship”
“what?”
“What’s with the life jacket, kid?”

gotta go fast

Started working on the caves/mines:

Mine entrance:

Are you going to share these maps anywhere, or are they more of a “let’s see how I can update this classic” thing? Because they look nice.

I’m going to share them eventually, but right now they don’t have any monsters in them. Right now I’m focusing on upgrading them graphically but the world space is similar enough that I should be able to balance it well for gameplay, while I can also expand some areas to add my own twist, but that’s after I’m done with the layout and the aesthetics.

This, however is a purely aesthetic creation I made to learn the tools and see how I could update it/do it in real time - as there’s no logical way I could make that into a playable worldspace without serious layout changes.

More mine shots:

Also started on the exit:

Which is better, green or purple?:

Green. Also, I really hope you’ll end up sharing them once finished. I loved the original Unreal, and playing it with modern graphics would just be awesome.

Don’t remind me that Square teased us with that tech demo :frowning:

I’m gonna be honest, I’ve never fully played the first Unreal. Maybe that’ll be the game I focus on next after finishing the Mass Effect trilogy.

I really enjoyed it, but if you are very into stories in your games, I must warn you a lot of Unreal’s story and info about other “characters”, and what’s going on you get from reading logs of the deceased, and I know that puts some people off when they have to read a decent amount.

Decided to go with green for the time being because even though I’m not sure, I just like green better:

Also uploaded a bunch of high res, ingame shots to my steam profile, because photobucket kept forcibly downsizing the screenshots I would get from the editor:
