Youtube has adds on every video? Well I can’t see that because I use the Firefox addblocker.
The more popular they get, the more bullshit they add.

I’ve seen one ad out of a trazillion vids I’ve watched, so it’s not too bad
Well, my projects went online a while back so here you go:

Enjoy :]
Early start on my Tyrannosaurus Rex (Tyrannosauridae) that lived in North-America during the late cretaceous and was among the last living giants before the extinction. I’m hoping to learn ZBrush so I can use it to create all the fine detail and patterns on the skin. This is also one of my first attempts at organic modeling.
Example of using ZBrush to create detail (not my work):
absolute BS
@Jeannotvb
That bumpy skin wasn’t made with normal maps?
Edit: Oh I see. You draw the normal maps by hand and then ZBrush puts them onto the model.
No.
You make a high-poly model in zbrush, and then make the normal maps from that high poly model, then apply them to a low poly version.
ZBrush is a 3D sculpting program, so basically I create a low-poly mesh in 3ds Max, subdivide it to make it super smooth then you use ZBrush to sculpt every single detail into the model, like you said these details are then put onto a normal map.
Example of ZBrush details (not my work):
NOT A CORGI
NOT INTERESTED
(i like it)
Great work on modeling the Rex’s Head, Jeanot, The other guy… not so much.
I think we should construct giant lambda symbol fountains in otherwise dead strip mall parking lots.
I just found out the reference image I’m using is not actually a Tyrannosaurus Rex but his earlier and smaller brother; Tyrannosauridae Daspletosaurus Torosus
They look the same in many ways except that the Tyrannosaurus Rex was much bigger, stronger and almost six times heavier, I think I’ll blend both species together into this model using the Daspletosaurus as the main reference.
Going to start on the legs and arms next.
@ bigfan421
I don’t think the other guy was making a T-rex, but rather a dinosaur from his imagination (it does look like a Giganotosaurus though).
If the T-Rex’s only difference was it was bigger, you can just resize your model. Remember, you are the God of your creations.
It doesn’t work that way unless you put it in an environment so that you can see the difference in scale. Also, the T-rex’s tail was thicker, more muscles in legs and the neck etc. Overal the Rex looks more like a bodybuilder.
Here you can clearly see the difference:
Daspletosaurus:
Tyrannosaurus Rex (he could grow even bigger):
:awesome:
That last picture of the skeleton is from the Natural History Museum in Brussels
I wub going there.
Also, pointing out that some aesthetics of a dinosaur are wrong is all kinds of silly, seeing as nobody really knows how they looked with flesh and skin/scales/feathers. Anatomically you can be quite sure, of course.
Yes but most of the artist impressions (skin detail etc) are awesome, especially Stan Winstons T-rex used in the Jurassic Park movie:

also, small but time consuming update (arms added)
You know, I’ve never noticed the bottom part of the ribcage on them. In fact, it looks like it was just floating out in the middle of the belly on T. rex, not even really attacked to the spine directly. Know of any theories on why the ribs formed like this?
