OMG NEW MEDIAS
cute, but the bite/reaction animation doesn’t read well. I’d suggest either having the bug hold on to the finger for longer while the player tries to pull it off, or else not having it hold on at all and just bite -> flinch -> slap.
The slap is pretty good. It made me chuckle, but what matte said work on the reaction to the bite.
Perhaps make the snark hold onto the left hand freely, separating completely from the right hand then have him try to pull it off with his right hand. It would convey well that that snark is firmly attached.
About a week ago I saw the Dear Esther mod for the first time. Amazed, I decided to put my art skills into gear and attempt a short 1-2 hour mod and see just how far I could emulate it’s awesomeness. I typed up a short haunting, silent hill esque script and I’ve just begun modelling.

The player approaches the tilted remains of the table. Its legs are broken off, but the body remains atop a rock near the center, putting it at arm’s reach. The drawer is jarred open and inside is a flashlight, some extra batteries, and a few odd notes. One of them reads, “You’ll need this.” On pickup, the light shines as it’s flipped on.

I was amazed to see the kind of texturing you can get out of a Source game once I started using sprites and models as details (after stealing the idea from the Dear Esther blog). This is very early without the finer details and features an incomplete normal map and it already looks amazing in game.
More videos made from video games.
Rocky meets Fallout 3
In case you’re from Germany, you can thank Sony for blocking it there.
In which case, here’s a link for the video on Metacafe.
I don’t make videos because people want me to, I do them because I like to.
that’s a good attitude.
Please no.
Metal Slug is pretty much the pinacle of Pixel Art when it comes to games.
The shear detail of the surroundings, the complexity of the animations. The Metal Slug games are works of art. They should NEVER be raped by 3D.
I agree with this post. Pixel art is super nice and metal slug has super nice pixel art. It isn’t metal slug without pixels.
