Early W.I.P on my new T. rex head, polycount is hitting 40 million so I cba to render the whole model at once without blowing up my computer.
Dinosaurs had feathers, not scales. START OVER, NAO!
Only small theropod dinosaurs are known to have had feathers (like raptors). It is possible juvenile Tyrannosaurids had feathers, but as they grew they were replaced by scales. Fossilized imprints of T. rex show it had small scales. It only seems logical as feathers wouldn’t work well on an animal that’s 13 meters long.
I’m not really looking for optimal realism anyway, I prefer the look of modern reptiles, they are beautiful.
