I have no idea what to put in the VMT.
"Vertexlitgeneric"
{
"$basetexture" "models\weapons\worldbloodequilizer\equilizer"
}

Copy the vmt from the gcf files and just edit the base texture directory.
Nope, didn’t work.
Ehhh ok, you can pm me the texture if you want.
Model looks nice.
The texture is just the UV map. I want to get everything working before I start on the textures.
Oh… well that stuff is over my head. I’ve never been a modeler / texture artist, myself.
The texture name you apply to the model when you export for compiling must be the exact same as the texture to be applied in-game…the QC defines the path for materials (vmt) and the VMT defines where to look for the actual texture file (vtf).
Edit: MDL Texture Info tool will display the path and filename of the texture it is looking for so you can place/rename yours accordingly.
What do you mean it’s just a uv map? As in blank uv map? You can view the texture in the modeling program. There’s no need to put it in the game if it’s not finished.
Thank you so much! You are awesome.
i posted this before but…

Oh hai, iPod sketching is a good job mayte…I’ll post something PROPER at some point in the future
