Are you doing these for a project, or just for yourself?
I was thinking about just doing both first levels from Quake and Doom in Crysis 2 and releasing them (obviously later for the doom level), so i suppose you could consider it a mini-project.
If it was just for myself I probably wouldn’t have put this much effort into it already. That article said I was considering remaking the entire Quake game, but I have no idea where they got that from.

Practice map of Office Complex. Certainly not even close to comparing to other maps I’ve seen, but for me, it’s decent. It definitely need some work. Still a work in progress.
