Server Back Up

Hey guys. Sorry for the downtime today. Not really sure what caused it but everything is fine now. Nothing seems messed up, server just needed a hard reboot (and of course, it went down about 30 mins after I left to go out… so it was down for a pretty long time).

Let me know if you run into any issues or anything.

Ryan

and i was sleeping…

If you find out what did cause it, please be sure to do your best not to let it happen again!
I’m glad it wasn’t an attack, and the forums weren’t deleted again.

Indeed. Even if the forums were attacked, I now keep weekly backups of every site on the server  So we won’t ever have to start over ever again.

that’s good to hear!

Glad to know we’re back up…

Hubi!
Sleeping in a bad time has consequences…

sleeping had unforeseen consequences

What if he dreamed about the site being down?

Then he should’ve never taken Ryan’s offer.

Glad to hear you make weekly backups

He should have prepared for unforseen consequences.

At least the server wasn’t down for long, we in chat were kind of overwhelmed by people asking why the site was down. Repeatedly.

Heheh, I had to work or I’d have felt obliged to help field those questions.

I was worried as well and wondered if it was a communist plot!

who would need to attack BMSF?

And yet it has happened before on more than one occasion.

Well, I can kiss $20 goodbye, I had a bet with my friend that the website wouldn’t go down for any length of time until past November. Glad to have it back up though!

Sleepin on the job eh?.. Well lets just hope any future downtime is only due to the failure of the entire internet when BM is released and everyone comes out at once to clog the tubes.

“Rise and shine, Mr. Hubi. Rise and shine. Not that I wish to imply you have been sleeping on the job. No one is more deserving of a rest. And all the effort in the world would have gone to waste until… well, let’s just say your hour has come again. The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world. So, wake up, Mr. Hubi. Wake up and smell the ashes that was the server.” :retard:

I didn’t even notice the site go down. I must’ve been busy with my life or something.

it was odd, the server pretty much sezzed up due to high load and should have recovered, but it didn’t. This rarely never happens but here is a fun fact for you all. the webserver has been up since dooms day (the server hardware failure). We have done everything in our power to insure this websites up-time and we review the servers performance almost everyday.

That’s possibly the best quote edit in all of mankind.
