Security guards

^ disagree. Stay like a sheep for grammar’s sake.

^agree. If it weren’t for stupid people, smart people wouldn’t be able to get away with anything.

^agree. In my opinion, dumbasses sometime seem to make the world go 'round. (I think i just broke the “agree” line… :frowning: )

^agree( lulz)

Getting Banned, now THAT’S funny.

Not so lulz now is it?

Anyway, will the guards use the automatic-fire mode on their pistols at all?

Well, I don’t think I’m funny… In fact, I KNOW I’m not funny. I just try to keep myself entertained

Why would they if the player can’t even use it? The glocks in Half Life have no auto fire option.

Mr. Alternate Fire Mode disagrees with you.

The Glock 19(the pistol being used in BM by the guards and the player) is not capable of automatic fire. You must be mistaking it with the Glock 18.

Alright it’s not really automatic fire in the traditional sense, but it is much faster. What I basically am asking is will the guards fire a bullet a second as in HL, or will they fire faster like Civil Protection?

Most likely CP-esque.

Anyone here thinking of making a Beretta 9mm skin? I always preferred that over the Glock.

I’m just thinking because they would be more mass produced in the States than the Glock, and the soldiers/guards would be more likely equipped with them. Also they don’t seem as bitchy.

Note: NOT asking the developers to change the gun so don’t flame me for fuck sake.

^Ten bucks says it’ll be made before Q3 2010.

Protip: Glocks are better than Berettas.
Glocks more reliable, accurate, and ergonomic than Berettas. The Glock 9mm also has a higher magazine capacity than the Beretta 92. I’m a grunt and I’d grab a glock over a beretta any day.

Glocks are also standard-issue to all police officers, so it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that this also applies to security guards.

Sorry for not reading your nineteen pages of political/TV-show/guard speculation crap, just a little comment:

Allowing security guards to start equipped (or become equipped) with better weapons ONLY means that the devs have to boost the strengths / numbers of enemies in the next locations, otherwise the player could just as well tell 1 or 2 guards “Come with me” and then go through enemies like knife through butter.

So the real question should be “Will it enhance gameplay?” and not “Will it make more sense or look more real?”

Ehh, my point was that the Military would be more likely to have them, but all in all touché guys… touché.

I’d still prefer the Beretta though :stuck_out_tongue:

Not really. Many Police Departments use the Beretta 92 series, the LAPD for example.

To be honest I don’t really like the idea of having security guards running past shotguns and sub-machine guns and not even giving them a second look, it just seems… silly.

That said it won’t exactly stop me from downloading the mod if they did or didn’t take note of this.
