Look at half the crap these people say… Either they are 18 and under… or are older than 18 with no girlfriend.
there’s no new information on the progress yes, but on the ‘enquiries about the mod’ thread, people ask all sorts of questions ranging from the quality of the voice work to what kind of guns BMS is modeled after. What they’re favorite part of the mod making process was. We dont ask about updates in there, rather just general questions about the mod that get answered by the devs, it’s a nice way of knowing that they’re taking in community input and also hints as to whats already been done.
EDIT: not to mention the many devs that have said they are on course of their internal deadline
I see your point, but I do feel there is a difference between asking for updates and expressing an opinion that the devs may be better off adding something to the twitter every so often, even though that’d likely be much less than people can work out by reading the forum.

Anybody know when the mod is gonna be released?
…|.,
Almost certainly under 9000 hours from now.
I’m serious, do the math.
Ha! “Almost certainly”?
It is almost certainly surprising that anyone would be that certain that the mod would be released in that amount of time.
btw…my “when’s it gonna” post above was a bad joke.
A couple of months ago, Ram said that due to the amount of work they were getting done, regardless of whether they meet their internal deadline or not, it’ll be done by the end of 12 months if they keep working at that level of efficiency. (And as that was a couple of months ago, do the math) And that also means the internal deadline is less than 12 months, so don’t worry about release dates.
like I just posted, there’s no reason to expect that students will work on a mod at the same level of efficiency during the school year as they work during the summer. But either way, ~12months brings ups to late summer 2011, which is a realistic expectation of when we’ll get an update.
I have been saying for over three years that this whole idea/mod is a hoax and is not even real, and have been asking the devs to produce some video of someone actually playing the mod. Proof of life if you will. Thier responce was to link to lame arse box levels that show nothing more than a alternate skinned health station or door. Phht.
Show me some video of someone actually PLAYING BM! The only thing that I have seen is a “so-called” demo video. A demo video doesnt prove a mod exists. A video shot over someones shoulder showing a real person playing the mod gives credibility.
Until I see proof that the devs have done anything after 2005 besides making skins for counter strike, I am laying down the BLLSHT card on the devs.
Mod doesnt exist beyond a bunch of pictures and video that was probably created as a portfolio piece.
Prove me wrong!
Sigh. This shit is gettin’ old.
I wouldn’t hold on to that. Just wait for it like a man.
Guys I wouldn’t think about it too much, over speculation is the reason the devs are pretty closed off about progress.
gee you’re right, because people never speculate as much as when they know exactly what’s going on.
:fffuuu:
Which is true. We always make everything better in our minds than it really turns out to be.
…the truth sucks.

Thank you very much! This is exactly the sort of thing I’d been hoping for. Just as a suggestion, maybe this could go in a separate sticky thread, or be put in the FAQ, or on the main page, even if it’s only just for the sake of other lurkers?
However, I’m sure the mod will live up to my expectations (considering I’ve been following BM since at least 2007 and its BMS days) of just playing through Half-Life but with far more life-like environments, if the screenshots are anything to go by. And more importantly, if it’s fun, then your job is done!
Sorry to burst your bubble but I find you a bit too optimistic.
