Fist shader test, and my god, i didnt event start adding textures and disp maps, and the render tree already looks like a fucking monster O_o
I’d have to see it against the skin tone to be sure, but I think I like the black and white one better.
go for the red and gray, it suits him! nice job so far, the only thing i still miss is his eyebrows… tho im sure you’re not going to forget those

It’s probably because they’d need a whole another team member just to make low poly versions of his models.
heres a full render with some skin shader fixing, now it need a subsurface scatering texture and diffuse texture ;] and maybe a specular text amount and color O_o
im gonna do the eyebrows at the end, since im still gonna fix some proportions , the eyars and some other stuff, and im gonna use inctancing and model each hair seperatly i might end up having the eybrows in the wrong place.

I think the lips should be smaller, but that’s my only qualm.

Not bad! I agree with the previous comment about the lips, and ears being all kinds of wrong. I’d just add that your eyes are too large/round/symmetrical.
Personally I would have gone with a different source image, with SLJ there’s so many good characters to choose from - but thats water under the bridge.
oh also, the body is way too narrow - look at how wide his neck is, he would have bad-ass shoulders and trapezius (i had to look up the name for that).

yeah you are right about his schouders, i was busy with other things and totally missed it ;D I fixed it, now it schould look ok ;]
Also now that i look, they eyes seem a little to big, but that happened since i added a second leyer for reflections and didnt scale it down ;]
And the scane isnt final, its still using 1 simple white light, and a second white as a fill light, for the finished thing i will use a hdr map, and im thinking of a shot from the bottom, and i will probobly change a few things ;D
now im gonna do the final high poly sculpt, fix the ears and stuff;]
