There probably is an ulterior motive for the timing, the spies posed no imminent threat, but at this point I figure every action by everyone in the government has an ulterior motive. Instead of figuring it out, support the things you want to support and don’t complain about move against them without definitive proof. It won’t convince anyone.
Why would Russia actually send those spies? I thought the cold war was over already. I thought the relationship between America and russia was getting better.
You thought wrong.
So the Cold War is still happening or what? And yes, I thought wrong apparently.
The cold war IS over. Right now the relationship is good, but that wont stop anyone from pushing boundaries to try and gain ground on intel.
But, why? What did both sides do to eachother to hate eachother? Apart from the nuke stuff. There must be a reason for them to be rivals.
They both are/were international centres of power. That’s enough.
Are you talking about today or during the Cold War? Cold War’s obvious, different economic philosophies.
Today, we aren’t enemies. Allies will spy on other allies just in case they become enemies. Its not a sign of hatred or rivalry, its a sign of acceptance that every country’s first responsibility is to itself, and as such everyone else could become an enemy at any time.
An article is here.
That sounds both logical and illogical at the same time.
Just read some Sun Tzu. We all know no one can best him in the ring of honor.
True.
So you admit that factions within the US military/intelligence establishment “probably” timed these arrests to damage the White House’s efforts to thaw relations with a foreign power, but you’re saying it isn’t worth discussing because “everyone does it?” That’s an almost comically childish point of view.
if the cia did this thing who’s getting rich and how
the military-industrial complex, obviously
(without a terrifying Russian threat, why would we be spending trillions of dollars to pay private industry to build missile defense, cutting edge fighter aircraft, nuclear submarines, etc)
This sounds like a 24 plot
Where’s Jack Bauer when you need him?
uhh to buy those kbr showers that electrocute and kill soldiers cuz they are so poorly built lol
the terrifying terrorist threat, obviously
We aren’t paying Lockheed-Martin $300 billion to make a cutting edge fighter aircraft to fight terrorists with no air force.
I honestly don’t think the average citizen thinks it through logically. But yeah, you’re right though. I was being facetious anyway.
Nope, I’m saying that there is some ulterior motive, but there is no way to actually know what it is, and just throwing out some motive without proof makes you look like a conspiracy nut, as you have hopefully noticed.
